A Moment with a Word by Dr. Tariq Al-Suwaidan on the Condition of People on the Day of Judgment

Dr. Tariq Al-Suwaidan, may Allah guide him and me to what He loves, has published another post to clarify his understanding of the types of people in the Hereafter, then he said: (I do not believe that Dr. Ayad, may Allah preserve him, or anyone else disagrees with me on the matters above).

Perhaps Dr. Ayad would like to respond to that. Therefore, I will answer in the context of a beneficial scientific discussion, in an atmosphere of mutual understanding.

Before answering, and out of a desire for hearts to unite for good by Allah's will, I would like to clarify something:

Some people thought that I intended Dr. Tariq with the phrase "the contractual diyatha," which is not correct!

I said this statement in a comment of mine on a post by my brother Hussam Abdul Aziz about the etiquette of disagreement, in which he criticizes a group of people who believe that we get angry if someone says something that could mislead people from their religion, so they do not defend the sanctities of Allah when they are violated, but they get angry if someone is reprimanded for being biased towards them! So, I supported his statement and expressed my disapproval of "the contractual diyatha and the absence of zeal for the sanctities of Allah!"

The contractual diyatha was intended to refer to this condition: those who do not care if the verses are misinterpreted in a way that leads people astray, and they do not get angry about that. Instead, they get angry at people.

I did not intend it, as some understood, to refer to Dr. Tariq, may Allah guide him and me to the truth and unite our hearts for what pleases Him. In addition, the speech was originally about a phenomenon, not about individuals. Recently, some people have pointed out to me that many have misunderstood this, and I did not notice this because I do not read all the comments, and due to the lack of following what others have said on this matter.

I say this so that nothing remains in Dr. Tariq's heart by Allah's will, especially since there are those who have increased in speech and attributed to me statements that I did not say at all! As if he is pleased to see Muslims in dispute and conflict!

Now that Dr. Tariq has clarified his intention more and more, and indicated that he believes I do not disagree with him, I say, O Dr. Tariq, may Allah guide you to what He loves:

We have a common ground, which is the acceptance of the Quran, the Sunnah, and the consensus. You have confirmed in more than one place that you take the consensus. Therefore, what I will say is based on what we all agree upon, not my personal opinion.

1. Therefore, I disagree with you on one aspect of what you mentioned. Your statement: "Notice that I said (they deserve) based on the promise and warning that came in the Noble Quran, and I did not say (they will enter)..." This, O Dr. Tariq, makes all the categories you mentioned that deserve Hell, makes them all in the will of Allah. If He wills, He will punish them, and if He wills, He will forgive them.

However, among those you mentioned, O Dr. Tariq, are categories that are agreed upon to enter Hell, those who "received the message of Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets, with clear evidence, clear explanation, and sound logic, and yet they rejected it" as you mentioned.

These people are indicated by the decisive, clear texts that do not accept interpretation, such as His saying: (Indeed, Allah does not forgive associating others with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills), and His saying: (Indeed, those who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until the camel passes through the eye of a needle. And thus do We recompense the criminals (40)).

Allah has despaired of the polytheists by His saying: (And those who disbelieved in the verses of Allah and in meeting Him - those have despaired of My mercy, and for them is a painful punishment (23)). There is no hope that Allah will have mercy on them by keeping them away from Hell. The texts on this are very numerous.

These, O Dr. Tariq, are agreed upon to enter Hell, not just to deserve it. And we are talking here about a (category) of people, away from specifying the fate of the polytheists, as this is another matter.

2. Your statement, O Dr. Tariq: "Then why do some people want to monopolize Paradise for themselves or for their followers or even their group?!!!!"

I say: No one in this entire discussion has proposed monopolizing Paradise for oneself or for a sect or group! Rather, the talk is about Paradise being for the believers who follow the prophets and being forbidden to the polytheists or those who rejected the call of Islam after it reached them.

This is not the "will of some people" may Allah guide us and you to what He loves! But it is the decree of Allah, which He has confirmed in many places in the Quran for us to believe in and to believe in with firm conviction without any doubt. So that people do not then belittle the matter of polytheism, thinking that they will remain with it in the will of Allah, if He wills to punish them and if He wills to forgive them. Rather: (Those have despaired of My mercy).

3. Your statement, O Dr. Tariq: "What is our concern with who enters Paradise and Hell? This is a divine decision, not a human one."

The answer: Allah, the Exalted, has informed us of His will in this matter and commanded us to believe in what He has informed us! And to guide people to that through encouragement and warning. If there were no concern with that, He would not have informed us and commanded us to believe in it.

- O Dr. Tariq, allow me to reiterate what I mentioned in my open advice to you, may Allah guide you: We need clarity on these great certainties, for they are among the decisive matters. - Our issue here is not a lack of mercy towards people or a desire for many of them to enter Hell, but rather an understanding of the gravity of polytheism makes us realize that they need us and we have the remedy, so we work to save them from the consequences of polytheism in this world and the Hereafter. This is what I am working on in the series I recently started: (Be Noble with Your Islam).

- By the way, a brother mentioned to me an old video of yours titled: (Nobility for Whom?) and its beautiful impact on the hearts of the youth. I would be very pleased if you followed what I publish in the series and shared your observations, so that, by Allah's will, the Muslim may reach psychological peace and harmony with the Book of Allah in His promise and warning, and these certainties turn into mercy for people and concern for them.

- I ask Allah to open for you and guide you to understand His will and to enlighten our hearts for the truth.

- The caller for good: Ayad Qanibi.
