Ahl Al-Ard Wal Mutatafilun
"If you don't like the country, leave it" This phrase may be heard by a Muslim trying to reform his society and denounce evil, swimming against the current. Those who say it are usually the arrogant, who see themselves as the owners of the land because power is in their hands, so allowing you to live under their "rule" is a favor from them! And opposing their laws – by calling for the Quranic Sunnah – is a crime that justifies their expulsion or imprisonment, in the manner of those who came before them: (We will expel you from our land or you will return to our religion). Note: (Our land)! It is no wonder that the arrogant are arrogant, but the danger is if their "logic" seeps into you, O Muslim, so you feel that they are the true owners of the land and that you are an intruder with your call! This is a form of psychological defeat. We must always remember that we – those who obey Allah and call to His obedience – are the true owners of the land, and those who want to subjugate people to their whims are the intruders, not the opposite. When one of them says (If you don't like the country's laws, leave it), our answer is ready: (If you don't like the law of the Creator of the country and the universe, leave His creation)! If an employer hired you and others to build a house in a garden, then disappeared for a while, and you began to build it as he ordered, and the others began to destroy it, then they turned the wood and stones against you and "beat" you with them, saying: (We are more than you and stronger, so we are the owners of the garden, obey us or leave the garden). You may fear their harm, but you see their actions as bullying and their logic as foolish, especially since you know that the employer will return and see what you and they have done. You will never feel for a moment that you are an intruder, or that they have "some right" to force you to do what they want! Allah, the Almighty, has entrusted us with this land to build it with His law and guidance. Whoever adheres to it is one of its people, and whoever opposes them are the intruders. In this matter, I feel a deep sense of belonging to every land I settle in, even if I go to America, and I feel that when I reform my community in a way that pleases Allah – such as separating mixed educational institutions – I am only returning people to their original state, and I find no objection or hesitation in it. With this certainty, you feel that if you swim against the current with your religion, the current is the one going in the wrong direction, while you are moving in harmony with the entire universe created by Allah, from the movements of particles in the atom to the end of the galaxies. And you feel that those who disturb you during this and make it crooked are tyrants, no matter how powerful they are, they are: intruders. So say to them: I am here performing my duty in a universe created by Allah, whoever does not like the law of the Lord of the universe, let him leave it if he can!
