Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah. Dear brothers, we are still discussing the characteristics of hypocrisy. Today, we will mention another dangerous characteristic. This characteristic is doubting Allah's promise of victory and empowerment for this religion. This is a great affliction that paralyzes the hypocrite's will to defend the religion. He sees the cause of religion as a losing one. So why should he tire himself for it?! Allah the Almighty says: ((And He will punish the hypocrites, men and women, and the polytheists, men and women, who think evil of Allah.)) The hypocrite, when his calculations were earthly and he saw the power of the disbelievers and their rise, thought that Islam was doomed and that Allah the Almighty would not support His religion. This is an evil thought that Allah detests. Whoever has hypocrisy in his heart looks at the disbelievers and sees material strength that his heart submits to, then he turns his neck to the believers and finds nothing but a small number, which is the most they could do, but they are still joyful, glorifying, and confident in Allah's victory. Perhaps he says to himself: These poor people believe that their religion will help them against tanks, airplanes, and missiles!. Allah the Almighty said about the Battle of Badr: ((When the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease said, "These people are deluded by their religion." And whoever relies upon Allah - then indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise (49).)) Doubting Allah's promise of empowerment for the religion leads to many other hypocritical traits. The one who doubts Allah's victory, his soul is defeated, his determination is crushed, and his will is weakened... So you see him then retreat from jihad...why should he fight if Islam is the loser in his view? And you see him lie to the believers so they avoid him and call him to sneak away from confronting the disbelievers. And you see him hasten to obey the disbelievers at the expense of his religion...they are the strongest in his view. These evil deeds are all the bitter fruits of doubting Allah's victory. Allah the Almighty describes the state of the hypocrites during the Trench: ((And when a party of them said, "O people of Yathrib, there is no place for you, so return.")) So retreating from jihad and discouraging it. 2) ((And a party of them ask permission of the Prophet, saying, "Indeed, our houses are exposed," and they were not exposed.)) So lying to the believers. 3) ((They were not exposed. They intended not but escape.)) So cowardice and clinging to the world. 4) ((And if they had been entered upon from all its [surrounding] regions and had been asked for apostasy, they would have done so and remained [there] only a little.)) So hastening to obey the disbelievers and not standing firm on principles. 5) ((And they had already promised Allah before not to turn their backs, and ever is the covenant of Allah [to be] questioned.)) So breaking a covenant with Allah the Almighty. Vile traits that began with doubting Allah's promise of empowerment for this religion. Therefore, my brothers, let us guard our hearts from this dangerous disease...the disease of doubting Allah's promise of empowerment for this religion. This religion is victorious...it weakens its people for a period of time according to how much they stray from it. But it will not be uprooted nor destroyed. The nation of Muhammad (peace be upon him) will not perish. And whoever tries to eradicate Islam is more wretched than one whose belly is cut open and his face turns red as he tries to blow out the sun's light: ((They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah refuses except to perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it. (8) It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all [other] religion, although the polytheists dislike it. (9) )) (Al-Saff). O believing brother, do not busy yourself with "How can Allah support His religion?" But busy yourself with being from the victorious group working for this religion...so you will have the honor of contributing to the victory of the nation even if this victory comes after your death. May Allah make me and you from them. And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
