Investing in the Freedom of Calls in Turkey

Investing in the Freedom of Calls in Turkey

One of our problems is excessive debate and little action. We spend a long time arguing about Erdogan's Justice and Development Party path, between those who support him—usually emotionally—and those who object to him legally. Both sides overlook investing the results of this path positively for the call to Islam. I explained my position in a speech (Objective Discussion of the Turkish Model), and I believe this explanation is important so that people are not infatuated with violating legal rulings for the sake of legal interests. However, regardless of the judgment on this path, it has resulted in an atmosphere of freedom for calls in all their forms. It is painful, very painful, that we Muslims are among the least people to invest in these freedoms! At a time when corrupt calls like Marxism and immorality, for example, exploit the state of freedom to promote themselves in universities, you do not see an active Islamic call addressing secularism, atheism, and aversion to religion, even though the field is open to it as well. For many Muslims, the name Turkey means nothing more to them than tourism, buying goods, or—in the best case—supporting the Muslims of Sham and their jihad. What about the Turkish people? Why do we neglect their call?! When I visited Turkey eight months ago, I gave lectures in a small city (Qayseri), and although I was not known to its people, and the translators were not professionals, the turnout was very good, and the people were thirsty to hear a good word. What a great investment in the call, if some of those whom Allah has blessed with wealth would dedicate educated youth with good style and manners to learn the Turkish language, live in Turkey, and activate the call there...with patience and wisdom, so that they focus on proving the truth of Islam first, then the concepts of loving Allah and submitting to Him, and subjecting all of life to Him, and gently uprooting from people's hearts the disgusting effects of Ataturkism, and planting in their hearts a longing for the glories of the Islamic Caliphate and the supremacy of Sharia over secularism. How beneficial this investment is in the long run, as it is a sign that many people will be guided by it, and it will develop a state of sympathy of the Turkish people with the issues of Muslims, and in particular the Sham issue, so that it forms a strategic depth and fertile ground for the spread of any liberated Islamic entity that arises in the region. But if the years pass and the intellectuals and scholars of the nation do nothing more than criticize the model or support it emotionally, and neglect this historical opportunity of freedom, which we do not know when it will end, and then if we lose Turkey, we will look for another country to which some of us will flee from persecution...it is a negligence that we may regret later. O Allah, employ us in Your obedience and make Islam the cause of our lives.
