Jordanian-Palestinian
I hesitated to write these words because they should be (a done deal), but one sometimes enjoys mentioning the blessing of Allah upon him that the obvious and religious assumptions are also his, especially when he sees some of the "poor" whose nature and understanding have gone astray, so they are deprived of these assumptions. In Jordan, there are people whose origins are from the east of the Jordan River, and others whose origins are from the west of the river. This difference means something to those afflicted with the disease of "Sykes-Picot"! While it means nothing to me ever...ever. What I know is that my honor and dignity prevent me from allowing the foreign occupier to draw a dividing line between me and my brothers, so that I submit to it and allow this line to affect my view of my brothers, my love for them, and my dealings with them! What I know is that (The noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most pious of you) is not a slogan we repeat with our tongues while our hearts are empty of it! But a sensitive and precise scale that governs my feelings and perceptions, from which my actions emanate spontaneously and without effort. What I know is that my brother from the east-Jordanian is like my brother from the west-Jordanian, no difference ever...Indeed, I sometimes find in myself an added pleasure and satisfaction in my brotherly relationship with my brother from the east-Jordanian because I inhale in it the meaning of the saying of Allah the Almighty (Verily, the believers are but brothers), and I delight in it with the brotherhood of faith that some of the deprived have been deprived of! Not only the east-Jordanian, but also the Syrian, the Egyptian, the Iraqi, the Chechen, the Circassian, the Yemeni, the Gulf and others who live in this country or stayed in it for a period...I have friends and acquaintances from all of these origins, uniting us is the love of Allah and His Messenger, the glorification of Allah the Almighty, and our great ambition for the nation to return its glory, majesty, and unity, and I believe in the sincerity of their love for me as is my love for them. Yes, and beyond the borders of this country, because faith does not recognize borders, but (Verily, this nation of yours is one nation, and I am your Lord, so worship Me). Difficult times have passed over me, and my brothers and sisters from the east-Jordanian stood with me from north to south in a brave and noble stance, because they are believers in what I was afflicted for, and our goal is one...and they are my brothers in the full meaning of the word, even if my mother did not give birth to them, and I will not forget their positions, which have sweetness in my heart every time I remember them...I ask Allah to reward them for me with goodness and to gather me with them in His Paradise. Let whoever wants to draw lines on the map, and let whoever wants to place barbed wire on the ground... These lines and wires have no place in my heart or the hearts of my brothers, and we will not allow them to mean anything to us ever...ever! Dr. Iyad Qunaybi
