Killing meanings with 'but'!
"It is true that loyalty and disassociation should not be to a party or group, but my group represents Islam in truth, so criticizing it is criticizing Islam" "It is true that mercy should be shown among Muslims, but this Muslim's ideas are misguided, so he must be dealt with harshly and his status must be lowered lest people be deceived by his falsehood" "It is true that the principle is to think well of Muslims, but this writer shows ill intent and cunning in his writings" "It is true that scholars and those with a history of virtue and jihad should be honored, but this scholar made a grave mistake, so he must be condemned for this mistake so that people learn to follow the truth, not men".
Thus is the killing of meanings with 'but'...":True, but"! As if we want to prove to ourselves and others that we are adhering to the principles of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah and their rules, so we present with the introduction "It is true that", but in reality we follow our bigotry and arrogance, so we retract with "but", thus completely emptying the rules of their meaning, and the rule in practice becomes an exception and the exception becomes the rule. I know full well that there are those who have gone too far under the banner of mercy, goodwill, and honoring scholars, but our response to negligence should not be excess! And if there are those who cross the boundaries, the solution is not to stone them broadly...((And between that was a balance)). The solution is not to become "reactive", so that our views and positions become reactions to the sectarians, so we respond to the loyalty of the disbelievers with enmity towards the Muslims, and we respond to goodwill towards those who show evil by tearing at people's hearts and accusing their intentions, and we respond to those who sanctify symbols by bringing them down for the slightest slip, or what appears to us as a slip! But...((And between that was a balance)). Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, said: (The religion of Allah is a middle path between excess and negligence, and Allah has not commanded His servants with anything except that Satan has opposed it with two things, he does not care which one he achieves: either excess or negligence). And let us remember that if we sanctify the rules of Islam theoretically but then strike them down in practice...let us remember that thereby we resemble the tyrants and their followers in this aspect –with the difference of course- they also say: "The religion of Allah is right, but ..."!! And I do not imagine that if we do not judge the Sharia with sincerity in our feelings, positions, and dealings, that Allah will choose us to establish the Sharia in the lives of people, unless it is of the kind: ((Verily, Allah supports this religion with the wicked man))! May Allah protect me and you. I ask Allah to make us among those who ((listen to the word and follow the best of it)). And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
