"Mama, why is their holiday fun and ours ugly?"

A friend told me: We were at a mall, so my wife took our children away from the scene of Muslim children chasing a group distributing gifts on the occasion of the approaching Gregorian New Year! She took them away and turned their attention so they wouldn't ask her: (Mama, why is their holiday fun and ours ugly?!!) The comment: In our criticism of Muslims' participation in Christian holidays, we repeat the same mistake: we focus on the results and do not look for the causes. Among the reasons is that we are "sour"!! We instill in our children and in the simple Muslims, and among ourselves, that Islam must be associated with sourness!! Many preachers hesitate to show their joy or joke in public lest it be said that he "does not care about the miseries of Muslims"! - "But I do care! And let me prove it to you... I will publish a picture of the dismembered bodies, blood, destruction, and crying" - He did not publish it because he was actually affected by it at the time, nor to base any work on it that he advises his brothers, but to prove his "loyalty and purity" and his belonging to the nation! - And here we enter into hypocrisy and exaggeration and forcing people to do what we do not force ourselves to do, the necessity of continuing sadness!! - Even we cannot remain sad, venting and relaxation is an essential need for a sound mind. But we demand from people what we cannot bear ourselves! - This reminds me of the scene of the Shiites in the lamentations! You see one of the "mourners" yawning while the speaker is lamenting for Hussein, if the camera is turned on him, he cries and slaps to prove his loyalty to Hussein!! - When will we learn to combine caring for the affairs of our nation with an open heart and joy in what deserves joy? - Allah has legislated joy in our holidays, and He knows the need of Muslims for seasons in which they rejoice, their need for that psychologically and educationally. - But some exaggerate even on the religion of Allah! And insists on talking about the miseries of Muslims – negatively – even during holidays and weddings, to prove his "loyalty and belonging"! Increasing the association of the image of religion with sourness in the minds of children and simple Muslims, so these rush to something that makes them happy, even if it is Christian holidays! - Then we add to the mud when we say to them: (How do you celebrate Christian holidays and ignore the miseries of your nation?!) They will answer you in their hearts: (Actually, we celebrate to escape your sourness and miseries, and you are still chasing us with sourness!) - I repeat and say: the problem is that many of us demand continuous sadness from people, which personally they cannot bear: (Great is the hatred with Allah that you say what you do not do). And the most important thing is that it is a negative sadness and self-flagellation with no direction to what is beneficial. - Let us stop the negative sadness, otherwise our children will follow the tails of "Santa Claus" and ring the bells with him, while we are in the hypocrisy of lamentations! #New_Year_Holiday
