Episode 12
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah. We have seen in previous episodes that falsehood is powerless before the truth in responding to evidence with evidence, argument, and logic. Therefore, it resorts to methods of evasion, deception, and obfuscation, wasting the case, because it is powerless to face direct confrontation. Today, we will discuss the tenth method, which is the doubting of the intentions of the callers and their purpose in their call. Allah the Almighty says in Surah Al-Mu'minun: ((And indeed, We sent Noah to his people, and he said, 'O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him; then will you not fear?' (23))) He called them to worship Allah alone. What was the response of the leaders among his people? ((The eminent among those who disbelieved from his people said, 'We see you but a man like ourselves, and we see not that any follow you except the meanest among us, [those] without dignity.')) Meaning, they accuse the intention of Noah, peace be upon him, that he wants to elevate his status among them and appear better than them with this call. They diverted the discussion from the call and its validity to the intention of the caller, which is an evasion. Similarly, Pharaoh said to his people when he showed them the clear signs of Moses' prophethood... Pharaoh said: ((Indeed, this is an astute magician (34) who wants to drive you out of your land, so what do you order?' (35))) He incites his people and tells them that Moses only wants to overpower you and expel you from your lands. And similarly, the people of Pharaoh said to Moses, peace be upon him: ((Have you come to us to turn us away from what we found our fathers upon and that you two should have greatness in the land? And we are not believers in you.)) Meaning, do you two, Moses and Aaron, with your call, want to have the kingdom and authority?
On the other hand, the people of falsehood purify their intentions!: Look at what Pharaoh said to his people: ((I only show you what I see, and I guide you only to the straight path))... Meaning, I only show you, O people, advice and guidance that I see as beneficial and correct for myself and for you! And the hypocrites said: ((We only intended goodness and success)).
Thus, the falsifiers of our time attack the intentions of those who address them with evidence from the Quran and Sunnah, accusing them of seeking distinction, fame, or increasing followers, to deter people from their call. Therefore, my brother, avoid judging intentions and judge the apparent actions based on their conformity or contradiction to the command of Allah, the Exalted.
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
