Episode 2
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah. Dear brothers, in the previous episode, we began discussing the methods of falsehood in evading the truth when it is unable to confront it with argument and persuasion. We mentioned the method: 'Do not listen to this Quran and distort it, perhaps you may overcome.' Today, we mention another method used by the people of falsehood, which is attacking the character of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Did they have any evidence from his biography or what they knew about him before his mission? Of course not. They only knew him for his truthfulness, honesty, and good character. Instead, they accused him with baseless claims and fabrications that have no proof. Therefore, they stumbled in them in a despicable manner that Allah mentioned in His saying, Exalted be He: ((But they said: 'Fragments of dreams! Nay, he has fabricated it! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us a sign like those who were sent before (5)')) (Al-Anbya). Notice how the Quran describes their confusion and embarrassment, as they do not settle on an opinion... They said in the Quran, 'These are mixtures of dreams that Muhammad saw and thought were real, and he narrated them to us.' Then they said, 'No, he fabricated the Quran and attributed it to Allah...' Then they said, 'No, Muhammad is a poet, so the Quran is his poetry.' Then after all this, they said, 'Why does he not bring a miracle like those we heard about from the previous messengers?' ((Let him then bring us a sign like those who were sent before)).
They also said he was a soothsayer and said he was mad... and they combined descriptions in some cases for the sake of variation, saying, '(Shall we leave our gods for a poet who is mad)...' and another time they said he was a sorcerer, and in another, they said he was bewitched: ((And the wrongdoers said: 'We follow none but a man bewitched'))... Far be it from him (peace be upon him). The diversity of their accusations in this contradictory manner is a clear indication of the invalidity of all these accusations. If they had any evidence from reality, proofs, and indications, they would have clung to it. Notice, my brother, that in all of this, they did not discuss the core of the call nor the essence of the message, but they attack the messenger of the message (peace be upon him) with pure fabrications. Similarly, in our days, the enemies of Islam often try to tarnish its image by attacking the callers and the carriers of this religion among the Muslims. We rarely see them engage in a substantive discussion of the essence of the call itself, but rather they deter from it by tarnishing the image of its carriers. Slandering individuals is easy, but refuting the arguments of Islam is like trying to extinguish the light of Allah!... ((And Allah will bring His light to perfection, even if the disbelievers hate it (8). It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth, to make it victorious over all religions, even if the polytheists hate it (9)).). Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
