Episode 4
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah. Dear brothers, we are still studying the methods of falsehood in evading the truth, its arguments, and its proofs. We have reviewed three methods in the previous episodes, and today we are with a new method, which is mockery. Thus, the trivial man, when confronted with convincing arguments and a persuasive approach, fears that his weakness will be exposed before the caller to truth and before the listeners who are captivated by the convincing argument. They begin to read his face and await his response... If he finds no escape and is cornered, he resorts to mockery to drown out the sound of laughter and cover his defeat before the light of truth. Allah the Almighty says in Surah Az-Zukhruf: ((And certainly We sent Musa with Our signs to Fir'awn and his chiefs, so he said, 'I am a messenger of the Lord of the worlds.' (46) But when he came to them with Our signs, behold, they laughed at them. (47) And We show them no sign but it is greater than its sister, and We seized them with punishment so that they might return. (48))). Imagine! Clear signs they could not deny, so they resorted to laughter! Then, after the signs, Allah describes the miserable fate of these trivial people: ((So when We overwhelmed them with punishment, We drowned them all. (55) And We made them a precedent and an example for those after them. (56))) As I read these verses, I imagine them laughing arrogantly, then suddenly Allah's decree sweeps them into the trash heap of history, relieving the earth of their evil and filth.
When Allah the Almighty revealed His words in Surah Al-Muddaththir: ((I will drive him to Saqar. (26) And what will make you know what Saqar is? (27) It spares not and leaves not. (28) Scorching for mankind. (29) Over it are nineteen. (30)))... Allah mentions therein the number of the guards of Hell: nineteen... The person with a living heart imagines them standing on the edges of Hell, their faces gloomy, whenever someone in the fire tries to come out, they strike him with iron hooks... A sight that shakes the living hearts and removes them from their place... But Abu Jahl had a different stance on these verses, as Ibn Kathir narrated in his interpretation... Abu Jahl said: (O people of Quraysh, can't every ten of you overcome one of them?) We seek refuge in Allah from failure and the death of the heart! So Allah revealed: ((And We have not made the companions of the Fire except angels, and We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve)). Mentioning this number was a trial for the heartless like Abu Jahl, who took it as a material for mockery and frivolity. The enemies of Islam still use the method of mockery and inciting insane laughter whenever they are unable to confront the argument with an argument. So beware, my brother, to humble yourself, reflect, and contemplate these verses to increase your faith, and do not take anything from the Quran as a material for jest and play, for Allah did not reveal it for this purpose, but rather to make the skin of those who fear their Lord bristle. And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
