Episode 5
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah. Dear brothers, today we are discussing the fifth method of how falsehood evades the truth when it cannot face it directly. This method is the use of material, earthly phenomena to negate the truths of the Hereafter, which are not subject to the laws of this world. For example: When Allah mentioned Az-Zaqqum in the Quran, Abu Jahl and the polytheists with him said: (Muhammad tells us that there is a tree growing in the Fire, but fire consumes trees, so how can it grow there?) These people applied a material, worldly rule to the conditions of the Hereafter, concluding that there cannot be trees in the Hellfire! Forgetting or ignoring that Allah, the Almighty, is the One who gave fire the property of burning, so He can remove this property if He wills. Indeed, He did so in this world when He made the fire cool and peaceful for Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Allah is the One who gave liquids the property of surface tension, but He nullified it when He split the sea for Musa, making each part like a great mountain. Is the One who did that in this world not capable of doing the same in the Hereafter? Is the Creator of the properties of things not capable of removing them? So believe in the words of Allah the Almighty when He said: ((Is that a better abode or the tree of Zaqqum? (62) We have made it a trial for the wrongdoers. (63) It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hellfire (64))) (As-Saffat)... Yes, our Lord, the Most High, is able to make trees grow in the fire. But these disbelievers said: (Muhammad tells us that there is a tree growing in the Fire, but fire consumes trees, so how can it grow there?). Instead of taking heed, fearing, and believing, they came up with this foolish argument. So Allah revealed: ((And We did not make the vision which We showed you except as a trial for the people, and the accursed tree in the Quran, and We frighten them, but it only increases them in great transgression (60))) (Al-Isra). Whoever believes in the existence of Allah and that He is the Creator of things and their properties must believe in His ability to nullify these properties. But they believed in the first and disbelieved in the second, contradicting the rules of logic.
Another of their fallacies is what Allah told us in Surah Ad-Dukhan: ((Indeed, these say (34) It is only our first death, and we will not be resurrected (35) So bring our fathers if you are truthful (36))). As if they are saying: If you believers in resurrection after death are truthful, then why do you not resurrect our fathers who died before and whose bodies have disintegrated? And Allah was amazed at their argument when He said, the Most High: ((And when Our clear verses are recited to them, their only argument is to say, 'Bring our fathers if you are truthful (25)')) This foolish argument against the clear verses! And the problem is that some fools may be affected by this illogical and irrelevant connection. The rules of this world have nothing to do with the rules of the Hereafter, nor is there any connection between the truth of the Prophet in the existence of resurrection after death and bringing those who have died from the fathers in this world. And Allah has not given this ability, nor did the Messenger of Allah claim it for himself. But it is arrogance, stubbornness, confusion, and deception when falsehood lacks argument and conviction. And this is a method used by the people of falsehood today... a method that may seem scientific as it relies on worldly rules and facts, but it ignores the fact that the matter of the Hereafter is different from the matter of this world, and the One who created the properties of things is capable of nullifying them. Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
