My Daughter Is Not More Important Than Muslim Children
Over the past days, you have interacted, dear ones, with the death of Sarah and the patience of her father... May Allah reward you well. However, let us remember that Sarah is not more important than the Muslim children who die in more difficult circumstances, nor is she the most patient child, nor am I the most patient father. When I saw my daughter in front of me in the hospital withering day after day, I remembered fathers in besieged areas like Ghouta and others who see their daughters withering day after day in a similar situation... The difference is that my daughter receives distinguished medical care, and her illness is a fate over which I have no power but patience... While the one who sees his daughter withering from hunger and siege, his pain is mixed with the oppression of men... It is also a fate that he accepts from Allah, but he has the right to be angry at the oppressors and to be angry... And how difficult it is to oppress men! I remembered children stranded at the borders in Gaza and elsewhere... They have medicines for their diseases, but the slaves of the oppressors prevent them from crossing borders set by the occupier long ago... So they die slowly, and their fathers and mothers see them in this state and cannot soften the hard hearts... And how difficult it is to oppress men! Yes, Sarah was patient, but in the nation there are thousands of children who are more patient than her... And their tragedies are greater than her illness beyond comparison... And in the nation there are thousands of fathers and mothers who have borne more than my bearing beyond comparison... I say this because I am ashamed that a child or his father from these patient ones sees what Sarah has received in terms of attention and says to himself: (But my Sarah has no one to cry for her)! The afflicted, my brothers, is most hurt by the feeling that he is forgotten! It is enough that the criminals who make him suffer forget him, so how if his brothers, who are supposed to support him as much as they can, forget him? The afflicted is most relieved by knowing that he has brothers who grieve for his grief, share his concern, and wish to do something for him. I say all this so that we know that in the nation there are a thousand Sarahs, and thousands of fathers and mothers who have borne more than her father and mother, and that the nation of Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a bearer of good, so do not let the abundance of evil deceive you nor prevent you from seeing this good, nor listen to those who want to set up role models for you from outside it as if it lacked role models! By Allah, among those who console me are those whom I am ashamed of because I know that their affliction is greater than mine. In the nation, there are thousands of patient ones who have not been highlighted, no poems have been composed for them, and their news has not been circulated... And I say this also to remind myself and every Muslim who has a heart: not to be a helper to an oppressor in exposing a child to suffering and wounding the heart of his parents in any form of support, for it is indeed a great sin... So beware, O servant of Allah, that you be forgotten as you contributed to the creation of forgotten suffering stories... So it will be said to you on the Day of Judgment: (Today we forget you as you forgot the meeting of this day). And know, my brothers, that being concerned with the suffering of Muslims is one of the greatest causes of patience and steadfastness when you are afflicted with personal affliction... This meaning we, as a family, took with Sarah and her brothers when my daughter was afflicted with the separation of her father from her for supporting the causes of her nation, so Sarah raised a sign saying: (My father... do not stop moving forward and say: My nation is dearer to me than my children). O Allah, have mercy on my daughter and the children of Muslims... O Allah, relieve the distress of our besieged and displaced children and their fathers and mothers... And make for our nation a near relief and an exit... All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
