Patience does not spring from the depths of yourself
Sometimes we suffer from a problem, we do not know how long it will last or how much it will worsen... Hope dawns in our hearts that it will pass... But we soon feel fear and the specter of despair when we think that our affliction will last and intensify. We fear at that moment! Because we look into the aspects of ourselves and its depths and find nothing to rely on to endure if the affliction reaches the dreaded degree. We deal with the matter in a mathematical way... If the calamity is a disease that may lead to blindness, for example, we form the following equation to imagine the future: I - sight = a miserable person. If your son is in the intensive care unit between life and death, the equation is: life - my son = continuous sorrow... And thus, we forget in this equation an important element, which is that patience does not spring from the aspects of your weak self when the calamity occurs or intensifies... Rather, it descends from Allah the Almighty! The Helper of those who seek His help. Patience descends from Allah just as victory descends... Patience descends from Allah to help you in your battle against despair and sorrow... And ((If Allah helps you, then no one can overcome you)). Note: Just as Allah the Almighty said: ((And victory is only from Allah)), He also said: ((And be patient, and your patience is only with Allah)). The composition of the words is similar. It is a very important truth! Patience descends from Allah, as well as security and tranquility... And there are many examples of this, such as His saying: ((Then He sent down upon you, after distress, security)), and His saying: ((So He sent down tranquility upon them)), and His saying, narrating about the magicians who believed in Musa (Moses) peace be upon him, while they were about to have their hands and feet cut off from the opposite side and crucified: ((Our Lord, pour upon us patience and take us as martyrs (126) )). Patience descends like rain upon trembling hearts, calming and cooling them. It is not your weak human self that you rely on to invent patience and wage the battle! ... It is Allah the Helper who affirms: ((Allah will establish those who believe))... And since it is Allah who establishes, there is no greater affliction than Allah's establishment. It is Allah the Almighty who binds the trembling hearts that almost fell from the chest due to sorrow or fear of the unknown... ((And He bound our hearts))... And then nothing is frightening if Allah is the Helper. Therefore, patience descends from Allah. And consequently, the equation is no longer the rigidity we thought, but rather: I – sight + patience from Allah = a contented person. Life - my son + tranquility from Allah = contentment, calculation, and a new beginning if you seek help from Allah, then patience will descend upon you in the appropriate amount to calm your heart, no matter how great the affliction. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said in the hadith authenticated by Al-Albani: ((Indeed, help comes from Allah in proportion to the need, and patience comes from Allah in proportion to the affliction)). Notice the words of the hadith: ((Indeed, help comes from Allah in proportion to the need))... in proportion to the task, ((and patience comes from Allah in proportion to the affliction))... Patience comes from Allah the Almighty, the Helper, not from the aspects of your weak self. But from Allah, and in what measure? ((In proportion to the affliction))... in the appropriate measure. All you have to do is disown your surroundings and your strength, and seek help from Allah the Almighty, and improve your relationship with Him to gain His support, and then there is no greater affliction than the help of Allah the Helper.
