Protesting with the Leftists and Discrediting the Muslim Brotherhood
My dear brothers, the following question was posed to me: (Posts have spread calling for the participation of non-Islamic revolutionary forces (liberal, leftist, or ultras) in activities against the military, while at the same time launching a severe and customary attack on the Muslim Brotherhood, with one of the reasons for the attack being the impurity of their banner. Isn't this a contradiction? Participating with those who hold non-Islamic banners at a time when Muslims themselves are being attacked for the impurity of their banner?) I would like to say: First: Participation in any activity depends on matters such as the demand of this activity and its banner. If the demand is to end the rule of a criminal or to object to a law that consolidates it or to raise an injustice inflicted upon people (such as imprisonment), it is a legitimate demand that the righteous and the wicked, the Muslim and the disbeliever, and members of "Islamic" and non-"Islamic" parties support. Second: Participation of parties built on a basis contrary to Islam, such as leftist and liberal parties, is not acceptable in any case, even if their demand is legitimate. If individuals of these parties participate in their individual capacity as persons, there is no objection, but if they raise banners or slogans in which they display their leftism or liberalism, they are not supported in this, but rather one must distance oneself from them and avoid them. Even if their demand is legitimate, they are, during this, engaged in their capacity that opposes Islam. In their participation in this case, they strengthen the power of their falsehood, and raising their slogans and banners in this case prepares for sectarianism in any new system that is built on the ruins of the system they are rebelling against. The Muslim must refrain from replacing one falsehood with another. Third: Regarding the attack on the Muslim Brotherhood, I advise my brothers who care about my opinion to prioritize, in this stage, the reconciliation with the Muslim Brotherhood and to consider the harm and injury they have suffered the most. Those who follow me know that I do not justify their mistakes nor the mistakes of others, and I have named the actions of their leaders by their names when they were in power. Now, it is appropriate that we are not preoccupied with correcting the methodology and pointing out the flaws over the severity towards the common enemy and exposing his conspiracy against Islam and its people and warning the misguided people not to attack and oppress the Muslim Brotherhood. It is possible to declare our innocence before the people from the mistakes that were committed, but without harming them at this critical time. All of this is with the affirmation of what I mentioned in the speech (O people of Egypt, let us heal the wounds) that activities, demonstrations, and marches alone will not lead to the desired outcome if they are not accompanied by correcting the path, calling people, and presenting leaders who gain trust, because the fall of the military will not be enough for the rise of those who have the Islamic cause. Finally, I mention excerpts from a message by Sheikh Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi, may Allah free him, bring him out of prison, in which he mentions his love for what is appropriate for the stage in dealing with the Muslim Brotherhood. The Sheikh – may Allah bless the nation with his freedom – said: "And I remember the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him) regarding the spoils of Hunayn when he gave them to Quraysh, saying (peace be upon him) apologizing to the Ansar and explaining his action by saying that (Quraysh are recent converts from ignorance and a calamity, and I wanted to compel them and reconcile with them) as narrated by al-Tirmidhi. So, consider his consideration of the calamity, and the intended meaning is their disaster with the conquest of Mecca and the victory of the Muslims over them.. So, consider this great character, even though the disaster of Quraysh and their calamity was at the hands of the most just of people, so how about when the disaster is for Muslims at the hands of the enemies of the religion? Is it not more appropriate and more deserving to compel the thoughts of the Muslims and consider their calamity in such a case?" And he said about the Muslim Brotherhood also: "At a time of their calamity, trial, and the tyranny of the system of disbelief and the army of the tyrant in Egypt over them; killing, pursuit, imprisonment, torture, and exposure of their women, daughters, and sisters, who are our sisters and our honor, what harms them harms us, and what pains them pains us." And he said: "Allah has taught us, may He be exalted, in contrast to what He has asked of us to be completely innocent of polytheism and its people as in His saying: {You have indeed in Abraham and those with him an excellent example to follow} as in His saying: {And lower your wing to those who follow you among the believers. If they disobey you, say: I am innocent of what you do}). So, consider the difference between complete innocence from polytheists and partial innocence from believers, represented by innocence from their sins only, without innocence from them themselves." And he explained that they are not treated in one way: "So, let the whole world know that we do not excommunicate the Muslim Brotherhood, but they are Muslims with us even if they differ with us in many issues, some in methodology and principles, they and their followers and supporters and supporters by the thousands on various levels, among them the scholar and the ignorant, among them the obedient and the disobedient, among them the learned and the commoner, among them those who are tainted with some nullifiers of Islam, such as ruling by other than what Allah has revealed, or participating in legislation, or swearing to respect the infidel constitutions, or praising the positive laws and their judges and courts, and among them those who have not touched any of that, and each is treated according to what he deserves, and it is not permissible to exceed with them the limits of Allah by treating all of them with the treatment of those we see have touched some of the nullifiers; so the innocent among them is harmed by the sin of the one tainted with it, for this is not just in any way" And he said about the jihadi current: "Thus, the color of our current should be, and thus the approach of its sons and the morals of its leaders and scholars and references should be, for they are the most deserving of justice among people when people oppress them, and they are the most deserving of fairness among people when people deceive them, for he who endures oppression should be among the most hateful of it and the most fleeing from adopting it." And he said: "It is not permissible to put the Islamic groups - the Muslim Brotherhood or others - all in one scale and one ruling, and to impose on those who have not touched a nullifier the responsibility of those who have touched it, nor even on those who have touched it with a pretext that is not prevented by a sword nor fighting the religion, with those who have touched it intentionally and prevented by a sword and fighting the religion and its people." And he said: "So, let us fear Allah and say a sound word, and let us fear Allah in the oppressed Muslims who are tyrannized and conspired against by the tyrants and apostates and their supporters, and let us not surrender them to them, nor abandon them or oppress them, for the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: (The Muslim is the brother of the Muslim; he does not oppress him nor surrender him) as narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim." End of the Sheikh's words, may Allah free him and benefit the Muslims with him in this difficult time. I ask Allah to guide the Muslim Brotherhood to what He loves and to employ them in His obedience and to relieve their distress and to unite our word and their word on the truth and to destroy our enemy and their enemy. Note: This article of mine is not a response to an article by any brother or specific group, and I hope that no one will mention the name of anyone in the comments as if the article is a response to him, for I do not want to attribute to anyone what he may not have intended. Rather, the article is an explanation of a general methodology. Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
