Technical Glitch or "Divine Intervention"?

When Muslims rejoiced at the downing of the Russian plane, some atheists said crudely: (An incident like this could be due to a technical malfunction, so do not claim it is from the supplication of the oppressed, and do not attribute it to your Lord, otherwise why did He not intervene and bring down planes in the past years?). Here we need to clarify some points:

1. As Muslims, we do not build our faith on an incident like this so that someone can say (What about the planes that did not fall?). Rather, we built our faith in Allah on sound intellectual and natural foundations, then we understand life and phenomena through this faith, knowing that nothing happens except by the permission of Allah the Almighty.

2. If Allah the Almighty wants to alleviate the suffering of the oppressed and answer their supplications, it is not necessary that He does so by breaking the usual cosmic laws, but He may do so through these laws. The division is not binary to say: from Allah or from the usual cosmic laws? Rather, these cosmic laws are created by Allah the Almighty, and He executes His will through them, just as He sometimes executes it by breaking them. He may make an unusual effect for an action, such as stopping the pebbles in the Battle of Badr (And you did not throw when you threw, but Allah threw), or making Muslims victorious over their enemies in many unequal battles, and He may determine ordinary material causes through which He executes His decree and answers His servants.

3. Nevertheless, we do not claim that this plane, for example, was brought down by a technical malfunction (material cause) that Allah willed in response to the supplication of the Muslims. Rather, we say: this supplication is a legal cause, we take it along with the other necessary causes, and if what we wish happens, we hope it is a response to our supplication, but we do not assert that.

4. The expression "Divine Intervention" is not precise, as it gives the impression that Allah the Almighty created the universe and created laws for it, then "left it" to run according to these laws. The truth is that nothing small or great happens except by His permission, and nothing escapes Him, not even an atom's weight in the heavens or the earth, nor smaller nor larger.

5. Our faith, which we built on certain foundations, tells us that Allah the Almighty does nothing without wisdom. If He afflicts the enemy with a calamity, it is for a wisdom, and if He delays the enemy while he is killing Muslims, it is for a wisdom, and the world is a place of trial (And We test you with good and evil as a trial).

6. It is painful that we limit ourselves to analyzing these events and wait for Allah's retribution against the enemy instead of being His tool in this retribution, but correcting concepts and responding to mockers is part of our battle against Satan and the enemies of Islam. And Allah the Almighty knows best.
