"The Numerical Miracle" Again
Dear friends, after my speech titled (Is the Numerical Miracle a Reality or an Illusion?), some beloved brothers objected. And brothers write to me with these objections, asking to hear my opinion so they can be firm regarding the topic of the numerical miracle. And I am here not to elaborate on the subject, because it is clear that we need to agree first with our objecting brothers on the premises, the most important of which is the definition of the miracle, and what constitutes the challenge in the Quran? Then discussing the scientific method and the necessity of it being consistent and not selective..then discussing the examples they present one by one. This is not the place for a long detailed discussion. But I say in points, dear friends:
1. First, the most important goal of my speech (Is the Numerical Miracle a Reality or an Illusion?) is to deny that what is presented as numerical coincidences is a miracle, and to deny that future predictions can be based on it. And yet I said clearly that this does not prevent calling what is correct from them (subtleties), for the door of subtleties is easier than the miracle. So if we agree on this, the disagreement afterward will be easy.
2. Now, what is correct from these coincidences and what is not?...This is a matter of dispute and it is not easy to be determined. As for the word (day), what some brothers did in their calculation for (day) I was aware of it before, and I do not deny that (day) with the conditions they set is repeated 365 times, I repeat: with the conditions they set. It is strange that many of the objecting brothers to me say: (Yes, Yiad, day is repeated 365 times, come and prove it to us) and they start calculating..Brothers, I was originally in my speech had referred to an article on the website (Islam Question and Answer), which did not deny that the word (day) with your conditions is repeated 365 times, but the website objects to you in introducing some forms of the word and excluding others without a clear method. So if you say that the word (day) is repeated 365 times, we say to you: not correct..But when you set selective conditions, yes, but these conditions have no justification for them. A predetermined result based on which you exclude some forms of the word and include others. So it was said in the website: (And Dr. Fahd Al-Rumi mentioned examples of Dr. Abdul Razzaq Noufal's selective choice of words to achieve numerical balance, including his saying: The word "day" appears in the Quran (365) times, the number of days in the year, and he included the words "the day" and "a day" and excluded "your day" and "their day" and "that day"; because if he did, the calculation would differ on it!). So we ask: on what scientific basis, brothers, do you include (day, a day, for a day) and exclude (that day, their day, your day)? So that you come out with the result that the word is repeated 365 times?
3. Even if we overlook this issue, the next question comes: what is the significance of the number 365 while we know that the Quran depends on the lunar calculation? And the lunar year is not 365 days but 354-355 days? Therefore, Allah the Almighty said: (It is He who made the sun a shining light and the moon a light and determined for it stations that you may know the number of years and calculation) (Yunus 5)..That is, the moon is determined stations so that you know the number of years and calculation, and He did not say that about the sun, and therefore the months of Hajj, fasting, and the holidays and seasons of Islam are based on the moon and its movement, as Ibn Al-Qayyim indicated. All of this makes me not accept considering the number of repetitions of the word (day) as part of the subtleties, let alone being a miracle! - By the way, I thank Dr. Adel Sabbour, may Allah reward him with good, for his note regarding the Ayat program. I had advised this program, but Dr. Adel pointed out that, for example, when you search for the word (day), the program counts the word (Qayyum) among the results. So we need to be careful before saying to people that the word (day) is repeated so many times.
4. Okay, what about the word (month)? Yes, it is (individually) repeated 12 times, and perhaps my speech indicated that it is not repeated 12 times. But once again: on what scientific basis do we include in the calculation (month) and (a month) and exclude (two months) and (months) and (months)? On what basis do we include the dual and plural sometimes and exclude them sometimes? Those who say the numerical miracle, when they wanted to show agreement between the number of angels and devils, included in the calculation two angels, an angel, an angel, and his angels. While here in (month) they excluded two months, months, and months. So on what basis do we include the inflections sometimes and exclude them sometimes? And include some inflections and exclude some?
5. Okay..The word (month) is repeated individually twelve times. Beautiful, is this a miracle? Is this something that challenges humans to come up with something similar? Therefore, in conclusion, dear friends, regardless of the detailed examples, the general idea remains that the repetition match is sometimes based on conditions that have no consistent basis, and what is correct from it is not something that humans cannot do, but it does not exceed being among the subtleties. - The miracles of the Quran are clearer, more dazzling, stronger, and more eloquent..As for the door of subtleties, the matter is easier there. - We ask Allah to guide us all to what He loves and is pleased with.
