The Pharaohs' Parade
Reviving Jahiliyyah = Obliterating Islam from souls
Yet, you see among those who present themselves to the youth as rational scholars, some who praise the revival of Jahiliyyah. It is as if the Prophet (peace be upon him) is speaking about the likes of these when he said: (Verily, Allah has removed from you the pride of Jahiliyyah and its boasting of ancestors. [One is only] a pious believer or a wretched sinner. You are sons of Adam, and Adam was created from dust. Men must cease boasting of people who are merely coals from the coals of Hell, or they will be more insignificant to Allah than the dung beetles that push filth with their noses).
Allah the Almighty has abolished any pride in polytheistic ancestors. The division is binary: a believer whom we cherish, or a sinner who brings us no honor. And whoever boasts of polytheistic ancestors is more insignificant than the beetles that push their waste with their noses.
So what about those who not only boast of polytheists who died, but also revive pagan rituals?!
Our Prophet (peace be upon him) said: (Behold, everything of the matter of Jahiliyyah is placed under my feet).
So the matter of Jahiliyyah, in all its forms, is under the feet.
Islam creates a complete break with Jahiliyyah, yet it does not deny the past. Rather, we believers have deep roots struck in history, and an extended procession, from Adam (peace be upon him) to the Prophets and their believing followers in every era and land... a continuous procession to which we belong and of which we are proud. After Allah the Almighty narrated the stories of the Prophets in Surah Al-Mu'minun, He said: (And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me)... This is our ancient nation to which we belong.
As for the Pharaohs who worshipped the sun and various gods, and whose people worshipped them as the light of the sun, they perished unlamented by Allah or the believers. Allah said regarding them: (And the heaven and earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved).
On the Day of Resurrection, the Pharaoh of Pharaohs himself will be at the head of the procession about which Allah said: (He will precede his people on the Day of Resurrection and lead them into the Fire; and wretched is the place to which they are led (98) And they were followed in this [world] with a curse and on the Day of Resurrection. Wretched is the gift which is given (99)) So whoever wants to join this procession, let him join. As for us, we side with the procession of the Prophets (peace and blessings be upon them). (Say, 'Each works according to his manner, but your Lord is most knowing of who is best guided in way').
