The phenomenon of belittling others' efforts – (Do not belittle any good deed)
"Statement in support of our brothers in Gaza" -"Brother, this is not the time for statements. We are tired of talk. Gaza needs armies to be mobilized, not pens moving on paper!" -"Blood donation campaign for our brothers in Sham" -"A nation without blood! Children of Sham are dying and you don't help them with more than blood donations! They don't need our blood that carries shame." We often see such comments. And their owners may forget that they first contradict the Prophet's command, peace be upon him, in the hadith narrated by Muslim, where he said: (Do not belittle any good deed)... in general. Meaning, do not underestimate or belittle any good deed people do. Muslims need those who praise the manifestations of zeal for the religion and mercy for Muslims among them, not those who belittle and mock them! Yes, we may guide people to a better way of good deeds if we know this way, so we say to them for example: (May Allah reward you for your good statement that indicates the life of your hearts. And if we follow it, brothers, by raising ourselves and our children on jihad, which is the completion of supporting Muslims). There is a difference between praising good deeds no matter how small and encouraging them, then guiding to what is greater than them, and on the other hand, belittling this good deed! (Do not belittle any good deed). Rather, we often belittle others' good deeds and discourage them from it, then leave them without another practical good deed to guide them to. We say: (Statements are empty talk! Armies must be mobilized)... Okay, mobilize the armies, then those you criticize will be the first followers at that time! The preoccupation with such statements and donation campaigns is condemned when one has more than that and does not do it, but covers up his participation in the crime with these actions, like the decision-makers in Muslim countries (considering they are decision-makers and not just slaves to their masters abroad!)... As for the general public, they should be addressed within what they can do in the foreseeable future with practical steps, while reminding them that their good deed does not exempt them from continuous efforts to take the means of dignity, empowerment, and support with strength for their oppressed brothers. And those who describe others' efforts as useless should ask themselves: Are their comments useful by their own standards? Do they liberate the country and save the people? Does belittling others' efforts contribute even slightly to the desired victory? If the answer is no, then what is their use?! So, they should not combine two opposites: idle talk and belittling people's good deeds! And finally, if those who issued a statement of support or organized a blood donation campaign had taken a completely opposite stance and issued a statement supporting the regimes aiding the aggression against our brothers, or called for not allowing the wounded to be treated in their countries, would we not hate them and despise their words and see them as partners in the crime? Or when they took a good stance, do we belittle their good deed? But (Do not belittle any good deed). And Allah knows best.
