The Poisoned Label!

As part of a curriculum change campaign, the following text was added to the book (Nationalism) for the fourth grade, page 32: (Observe the following situation, then answer the questions that follow: A family named Muhammad went on a trip to the Dead Sea. As soon as they found a clean spot near public services, they rushed to it, spent their day there, then left the place, leaving behind scattered trash, spilled water, and foul odors). Dr. Jamal Al-Basha, may Allah preserve him, commented on the inclusion of the name (Muhammad) in this repulsive text by saying: (No one can convince us that placing this honorable name among Muslims came spontaneously and with good intentions from the curriculum developers. As educators, we know well how positive and negative perceptions in the mind are associated with names, how those perceptions are imprinted in the subconscious, and how they are used for encouragement and deterrence, especially among children. Did thousands of names run out for the curriculum developers to choose from, except for this noble name?!) And I affirm his words: When I was in my bachelor's degree, an Irish doctor came to teach us dermatology as part of the pathophysiology course. I didn't notice anything unusual about him until a student from the next batch told me: (Yiad, this doctor did a bitter act! He showed pictures of skin diseases without naming the patients, but when he came to a repulsive disease, he showed the picture with the patient's name: Muhammad)! I doubted that day that the Irish doctor intended something by that, until I saw him one day on the bus, and I asked him if I could sit next to him...He was initially confused, but I made him feel "simple" to get what he had inside, and we had a discussion...Before parting at Suweileh roundabout, this doctor (who supposedly came to teach us only about diseases) took out a copy of the "Holy Bible" and a Christian film from his bag and gave them to me! Including the name of our Prophet (peace be upon him) in such contexts is never a mistake, and as Dr. Jamal Al-Basha wondered: Why didn't they name that dirty family George, for example?! Do not underestimate the impact of that on the psyches of our children. We who know (Muhammad) (peace be upon him) judge the texts according to our cognitive structure that glorifies religion, while our children's psychological cognitive structure is shaped by such distorted texts, along with the removal of the hadiths that introduce them to (Muhammad) (peace be upon him). So we say to these troublemakers: You are the ones who spread filth in the curricula, and the foul smell is the hatred you harbor for Islam. Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs!
