Episode 10

Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah. Dear brothers, we are still following the ten divine commandments in Surah Al-An'am. Today, we will focus on the ninth commandment, which is His saying: ((And fulfill the covenant of Allah)) This is a comprehensive commandment under which many meanings fall: - It includes fulfilling what Allah has covenanted with us in the previous commandments in these verses. So, as if Allah Almighty says to us: Do you claim faith? Then know that by this claim, you have covenanted with your Lord to abide by His command and prohibition, so fulfill your covenant with Allah, perform what He has covenanted with you: ((Do not associate anything with Him, and do good to your parents, and do not kill your children out of poverty - We provide for you and them, and do not approach indecencies, whether apparent or hidden, and do not kill the soul that Allah has forbidden except by right. That is what He has enjoined upon you that you may use reason (151). And do not approach the orphan's property except in the best way until he reaches maturity, and give full measure and weight with justice. We do not burden a soul beyond its capacity. And when you speak, be just even if it concerns a relative)). All of this is from the covenant of Allah. - Yes, Islam is submission and surrender to the command of Allah: ((And remember the favor of Allah upon you and the covenant by which He bound you when you said, 'We hear and obey.')). The claim of faith entails the existence of a covenant - a covenant - between you and Allah that you hear and obey, and do not make excuses with the passage of time or the loss of interests or the fear of people, so that you disobey Allah for that... but ((And fulfill the covenant of Allah)). Some commentators also state that this commandment includes every covenant that two humans covenant upon, for although it is a covenant between two people, Allah Almighty has named it (the covenant of Allah) to magnify the importance of this covenant and to command its preservation and fulfillment. This includes many forms such as contracts of sale, purchase, lease, and partnerships. All of these are included in His saying: ((And fulfill the covenant of Allah)).

Also, my brothers, many of us, when we fall into a problem, covenant with Allah that if He saves us from it, we will be among the righteous and refrain from the sins we have been committing for a long time. But after Allah saves him with His kindness and mercy, the zeal of this servant weakens, and he gradually returns to his previous state of heedlessness. Then comes the divine call, reminding him of the sighs of seeking help in moments of distress, reminding him of this covenant he made with Allah: ((And fulfill the covenant of Allah)).

So, this was the ninth commandment of our Lord, commanding us to fulfill the covenant with Allah and with people. And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
