Episode 6
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah. Brothers and sisters, in the previous episodes, we discussed the first five commandments of our Lord, glorified and exalted be He, mentioned in verse 151 of Surah Al-An'am...((Say, 'Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited for you: Do not associate anything with Him, and to parents do good, and do not kill your children out of poverty - We provide for you and for them, and do not commit adultery, whether openly or secretly, and do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden except by right. That is what He has commanded you that you may use reason.' (151)))
Today, we meet the sixth commandment, which is His saying, glorified and exalted be He: ((Do not approach the orphan's wealth except in the best way until he reaches maturity)) Look at the mercy of the Most Merciful, glorified and exalted be He, towards the weak among His servants and His defense of their rights. Allah, glorified and exalted be He, did not say (Do not deal with the orphan's wealth) but ((Do not approach the orphan's wealth)), emphasizing the warning against dealing with this wealth unjustly. Then He did not say: (Do not approach the orphan's wealth except with good management) but (in the best way), the best ways of dealing with what suits the orphan's condition and achieves the best balance between meeting his needs and saving for his future. ((Until he reaches maturity)) so that his weakness is removed and you return to him what remains of the wealth that was entrusted to you. Look how Allah, glorified and exalted be He, softens the hearts of His servants towards the weak. But brothers, neither excess nor negligence. Allah does not love for His servants to fall into hardship and distress in dealing with the orphan's wealth. When Allah, glorified and exalted be He, revealed ((Do not approach the orphan's wealth except in the best way)) and His saying in another verse (Those who devour the wealth of orphans unjustly, they only devour into their bellies fire, and they will burn in it), those who had taken in an orphan separated their food from his food and their drink from his drink. So they would buy food for the orphan from the inheritance money. If any of the orphan's food remained, they would save it until the orphan ate it or the food spoiled, fearing that they might eat the orphan's money. This became difficult for the companions who had taken in orphans, so they mentioned it to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and Allah, glorified and exalted be He, revealed (And they ask you concerning the orphans. Say, 'To set things right for them is best. And if you mix with them, then they are your brothers. And Allah knows the corrupter from the reformer. And if Allah had willed, He could have imposed upon you. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise'). Allah knows who intended to harm the orphan's wealth and who intended goodness for the orphan and his wealth. So the companions returned to mixing their food with the orphans' food and their drink with their drink. This is one of the forms of Islamic balance that preserves the rights of the weak in society without it being at the expense of other groups and tightening on them, which human secular systems fail to do, as they favor one group at the expense of another. Therefore, brothers and sisters, this is the sixth commandment of our Lord, glorified and exalted be He: ((Do not approach the orphan's wealth except in the best way)). And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
