Episode 8

Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah. Dear brothers, we continue to compare the fates of believers, disbelievers, and hypocrites so that we may feel the greatness of the difference, so that our faith does not become dull, and so that we do not forget the injustice we see in this world. Allah Almighty says: ((And We place the just balances for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be wronged in anything)). How many Muslims have been slapped in the face by oppressive, criminal people who do not fear Allah. How many disbelievers have died without any harm coming to their faces. But on the Day of Resurrection, the Day of Truth: the believer's face is honored, and the best honor is to look at the face of Allah the Most High: ((Faces on that Day will be radiant (22) looking toward their Lord (23) )) (Al-Qiyamah). On the other hand, the disbeliever's face is humiliated: ((On the Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces, taste the touch of Saqur)). And he is struck on the head: ((And they will have collars of iron (21) whenever they try to come out of it, they are returned to it in anguish)) (Al-Hajj).

The believers enjoy hearing praise and congratulations from the angels: ((And the angels enter upon them from every gate, saying, 'Peace be upon you for your patience. Excellent is the reward of the abode.')). While the disbeliever is tormented with psychological suffering from the angels' blame and reproach: ((And taste the torment of the Fire (22) That is because of what your hands have sent forth, and Allah is not unjust to the servants (24) )) (Al-Hajj). Perhaps psychological suffering is no less painful than physical suffering.

The believers are given to drink to quench their thirst in fasting and jihad: ((And they are given to drink therein a cup whose mixture is of ginger (22) a spring therein named Salsabil)). And the most beautiful and greatest thing is that their drink is from Allah the Most High: ((And their Lord gives them a drink of pure wine)). While the disbelievers: ((And they are given to drink boiling water that cuts their intestines)) and we seek refuge in Allah. So are they equal? No, by Allah, they are not equal.

The believers ((have whatever they wish with their Lord)) while the disbelievers: ((And a barrier is placed between them and what they desire))... In a moment, perhaps a stroke, a heart attack, or a car accident, and the disbeliever is snatched from all his desires forever with no return. Then he is in the Fire, and his request is not answered. He asks to return to the world, but his request is not answered; he asks to leave the Fire, but his request is not answered; he asks to be killed, but his request is not answered; he asks for the torment to be lightened, but his request is not answered. While the believers ((have whatever they wish with their Lord. That is the reward of the doers of good (34) )) (Az-Zumar), and they do not ask nor wish to leave Paradise ((dwelling therein forever, desiring no change)). So are they equal? They are not equal.

O Allah, admit us to Paradise by Your mercy, and overlook our faults by Your forgiveness and generosity. And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
