Episode 2 - Heart Life Check

Brothers and sisters...the wise human cares more about the health of his soul than his physical health, so he always asks himself: Is my heart healthy or is there a disease in it? There is an easy test that reveals the result without cost and without the need for a lab...this test is: the extent of your impact by the Quran. What is the verse that indicates this? First, Allah the Almighty said in Surah Al-Isra: ((And We send down of the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy to the believers, and it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss)) So, if you see that the Quran heals you, removes your worries, corrects you, and revives your soul...if you feel while reciting it or hearing it that the mercy of Allah envelops you, surrounds you, and penetrates the veins of your heart no matter the circumstances...then rejoice! You are among the believers, because the Quran is a healing not for everyone, but for the believers. And if you, God forbid, are not affected by the Quran, it does not attract you, you do not stop after hearing it about your sins, and you do not become active in obedience after it...this does not happen except with the wrongdoers, and we seek refuge in Allah, those who wronged themselves by following desires and exposing themselves to temptations, so they deprived themselves of what is good for them...they deprived themselves from the bliss of the Quran.

In Surah At-Tawbah, Allah described a group of people whose hearts were hardened, and He said: ((And when a surah is revealed, some of them say: Which of you has this increased in faith?))...they ask each other: Does not Allah say that the Quran increases faith?! Have you increased in faith, O so-and-so? And the respondent says: No...then the questioner says: Nor have I...they thought that the Quran does not increase faith for others as well, and they compared it to the hardness of their own hearts. Allah responded to their question, clarifying that the fault is not in the Quran that it did not increase their faith, but the fault is in the recipient. He said, the Most High: ((But as for those who believe, it has increased them in faith, and they rejoice (124))) So faith is established in their hearts, they become active in obedience, and they are pleased with what the Quran contains of reward for the believers, and their souls are at ease. As for those whose tools of feeling beauty are distorted, He said about them, the Most High: ((But as for those in whose hearts is a disease, it has increased them in wickedness to their wickedness)) and we seek refuge in Allah...the one whose heart is sick because he follows desires, if he reads the Quran or hears it, he finds in it what opposes his desires, so he turns away from the Quran and hates to follow its commands and prohibitions, so his heart becomes more sick.

Brothers, do not think that this speech is about a group of hypocrites who have disappeared and no longer exist, but rather let each of us search within ourselves for this problem...when you ride your car or open your shop or go to your office in the morning, you turn on the Quran, then after a few minutes, whether few or many, you turn the recorder to singing stations or put on a musical tape full of calls to evil and heedlessness of Allah...so has the Quran increased your faith?! And if it has increased your faith, can you bear to hear the falsehood after it and be pleased with it?!

Therefore, the lesson learned from today's episode is: Your impact by the Quran is the precise examination of the health of your heart. I ask Allah to make us all among those who come to Allah with a sound heart.
