Episode 33 - Islam Does Not Need You

Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah, Dear brothers, sometimes while serving the religion of Allah, we may feel that we are performing a great task that no one else is doing in our time, workplace, or country. Therefore, we may feel that we will not be misguided by our sins, nor will we be prevented from fulfilling our role, and we will not die before completing this mission because this will deprive others of our goodness. That is, we feel that people need us, and even that Islam needs us as well. This feeling is positive and commendable to the extent that it drives us to take responsibility so that we do not turn away from the world and leave our beneficial missionary role for humanity... A feeling that is beneficial to the extent that we remember with it the saying of the poet:

I was prepared for a matter, if I had realized it, Then take care of yourself, for with negligence

But this feeling sometimes becomes dangerous! It becomes dangerous if it leads us to neglect the matter of Allah and to belittle our sins, reassuring ourselves that Allah will not punish us for that by turning our hearts away or stopping the door of goodness that we are standing on, because we see ourselves as a tool of Allah in benefiting and guiding His creation, so our loss is their loss.

Therefore, the divine clarification comes that Allah is not in need of anyone. Rather, we are the ones in need of supporting His religion. Allah says: ((And if you turn away, He will replace you with people other than you, and they will not be like you)). That is, He will remove you and bring a new creation better than you who will not turn away from His obedience. With such simplicity...

This divine speech is addressed primarily to the Companions who were the first carriers of Islam, and whose loss seemed to be a loss for Islam... Yet Allah says to them: ((And if you turn away, He will replace you with people other than you, and they will not be like you)).

Even the most beloved of people to Allah, Muhammad (peace be upon him), his Lord said to him: ((And had We not established you, you would have almost inclined to them a little (74). Then We would have made you taste the hardship of life and the hardship of death, and you would not find for yourself any helper against Us (75))).

I have known people in my life who I thought Allah would not take them before they completed their mission. But they died young, and Allah appointed others for His religion. And in the hadith that Al-Albani deemed good, our Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ((Allah will continue to plant in this religion plants that He will use in His obedience)).

Therefore, my brother and sister... Ask Allah to use you in His obedience, for Allah is not in need of anyone, but we are the ones in need of Him: ((O mankind, you are in need of Allah, and Allah is the Free of all wants, the Praiseworthy (15). If He wills, He will take you away and bring forth a new creation (16). And that is not difficult for Allah (17)) (Faatir).

Islam is victorious with you and without you, and Allah will spread His light even if the disbelievers hate it. It is you who need to support the religion of Allah to be saved and to attain honor. ((And if you turn away, He will replace you with people other than you, and they will not be like you)). And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
