Today is the first day my little one (Noor) completes fasting a full day. Every so often she comes to ask me how much time remains until Maghrib, then complained of tiredness....so I said to her: My dear, imagine how you'll see Allah's face on the Day of Resurrection and He is joyful with you because you fasted out of love even though you're not obligated to...if you remember that, you'll endure and be happy with your fasting..

Noor smiled and said: "A nice feeling"...and here she is coming to me every so often again to ask how much time remains

We need to attach our children to Allah with such phrases: Allah's pleasure, Allah's love, meeting Allah, seeing Allah, Allah's joy with you...to raise in them souls that worship Allah nobly, not souls that condition their Lord for worldly reward or else the path becomes long.
