If you adhere to (Take what is given freely) and are attacked so your chest tightens, then remember (and turn away from the ignorant), so do not argue with them. Allah the Exalted knows that enjoining good exposes one to the harm of the ignorant, so He said: (Take what is given freely, enjoin what is right, and turn away from the ignorant). If you insist after that on pleasing them and are afflicted with distress and sadness from them, this is the punishment for violating Allah's command to you when He said: (And turn away from the ignorant)
