Ibn Al-Jawzi said: (Beware of sins, for if there were nothing in them except the dislike of meeting [Allah], that would be punishment enough) Meaning it's punishment enough that you feel estranged from meeting Allah because you sense He is not pleased with you, instead of finding comfort in Him and longing to meet Him while He is pleased with you. Therefore I say: if there were nothing except confidence in His companionship, that would be reward enough. It's reward enough for good deeds that they cause you to trust that Allah is with you, rescuing you, planning for you, protecting you, supporting you, and making blessings for you within the belly of trials.
