I told her: Among the punishments for sins is forgetting beneficial knowledge, and I recalled Ibn Taymiyyah's statement in Majmu' Al-Fatawa: (Among sins are those that are a cause for the concealment of beneficial knowledge or some of it, rather they are a cause for forgetting what was known and for confusing truth with falsehood). We have seen "scholars" fall into the very thing they used to warn people against and they confused people about the decisive issues of the Ummah, as if they forgot what they used to say completely.
