Ahl al-Sunnah know the truth and show mercy to creation Ibn al-Mulaqqin mentioned in Tabaqat al-Awliya 1/47 that Ma'ruf al-Karkhi, may Allah have mercy on him, was sitting one day on the Tigris in Baghdad, when boys passed by him in a boat playing musical instruments and drinking. He raised his hands to the sky and said: (My God and Master, just as You have made them happy in this world, I ask You to make them happy in the Hereafter). His companion said to him: We only asked you to pray against them, not for them! He said: (If He makes them happy in the Hereafter, He will have granted them repentance in this world, and this will not harm you).
