How much those who go out for jihad need to contemplate this verse and the repetition of "investigate" in it twice: (O you who have believed, when you go forth [to fight] in the cause of Allah, investigate; and do not say to one who gives you [a greeting of] peace "You are not a believer," aspiring for the goods of worldly life; for with Allah are many acquisitions. You were like that before; then Allah conferred His favor upon you, so investigate. Indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted.) That is, whoever shows Islam, do not deny faith from him to justify for yourselves making his blood and wealth permissible. And notice the address is directed to those who went out as mujahideen in the cause of Allah (when you go forth in the cause of Allah) because of His knowledge, the Almighty, that this is something that occurs in the fields of jihad and because of the danger of its effect on them.
