How much those who go out for jihad need to contemplate this verse and the repetition of "ascertain" in it twice: (O you who have believed, when you go forth [to fight] in the cause of Allah, investigate and do not say to one who gives you [a greeting of] peace "You are not a believer," aspiring for the goods of worldly life; for with Allah are many acquisitions. You [yourselves] were like that before; then Allah conferred His favor upon you, so investigate. Indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted) Meaning whoever shows Islam, do not negate his faith to justify making his blood and wealth lawful. And notice the address is directed to those who went out as mujahideen in Allah's cause (when you go forth in the cause of Allah) because of His knowledge, the Exalted, that this occurs in jihad fields and because of the seriousness of its impact on them.
