There are people who occupy religious positions and wear the garb of scholars while their "achievement" is occupying the arena with their fatwas that demolish Islam and its foundations and make established certainties subject to discussion and disagreement!
Among the latest of that is one of them speaking about companionship between a young man and a girl. I will not engage in detailed refutation so we don't spend our lives reacting to the likes of these. For books have been written and lectures have been held on the guidelines for interaction between the sexes, supported by evidence. But I will just remind with one verse, in which Allah addressed the best of men and purest of heart (the Companions) how they should treat the best of women and purest of heart (the wives of the Prophet, peace be upon him), and He the Most High said: (And when you ask [his wives] for something, ask them from behind a partition) Someone might say: But this is specific to the wives of the Prophet, peace be upon him.
This is not the point of evidence, but rather continue the verse: (That is purer for your hearts and their hearts).
So that hearts remain pure from inappropriate attachments. So what about one who wants to remove barriers in a time of inflaming instincts and making the lawful difficult between youth and girls who are not of purer hearts than the Companions and the wives of the Prophet, and then says: "But don't do haram"?!
He threw him in the sea bound and said to him Beware, beware that you get wet with water
Islam made separation the norm even in the purest of places "mosques" which the best of Muslim men and women come to, and our Prophet, peace be upon him, said: (The best rows for men are the first ones, and the worst are the last ones, and the best rows for women are the last ones, and the worst are the first ones).
All this out of keenness on separation as much as possible, of course with the existence of regulated interaction as needed, and the existence of alliance between believing men and women (The believing men and believing women are allies of one another) and their cooperation in righteousness and piety, not "companionship" and "friendship" and going out together!!!
The likes of these you do not hear them speak about the obligation of releasing the unjustly imprisoned prisoners in their countries, nor about manifestations of disbelief and fighting against religion, nor do they support a truth or suppress a falsehood, but rather their task is diluting and distorting the features of Islam. So the duty is to drop their prestige and show their failure and that they are not to be trusted with anything of the religion, then not to be distracted by them. In the authentic hadith our Prophet, peace be upon him, said: (What I fear most for you is the argument of a hypocrite, learned of tongue).
And Allah is the One from Whom we seek help.
