Among the comments on the word (Message to My Christian Neighbor) that we published yesterday was one woman's statement: "Hajj was a pagan custom and yet Islam approved it. So the important thing is the intention"!! Of course this is a big mistake! For Hajj is not a pagan custom.

Rather the Prophets performed Hajj, including Ibrahim, peace be upon them. Allah the Most High said: (And proclaim to the people the Hajj; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel). The pagans after Ibrahim, peace be upon him, corrupted the rituals of Hajj, then Islam came and purified them from their polytheism and returned them to monotheism.

There is nothing in Islam whose origins are pagan, and this is information from the basics of Islam. But schools, universities and media do not teach these basics that give Muslims their distinction, independence and honor in their religion...rather they teach dilution, domestication and erasure of identity except for those whom my Lord has mercy on, such that the fundamentals of Islam are hidden from the young before the old!

(Say, "Indeed, my Lord has guided me to a straight path - a correct religion - the way of Ibrahim, inclining toward truth, And he was not of those who associated others with Allah").
