A person called me saying that he was exposed a while ago to a circumstance that caused him severe pain... regardless of the type of pain, whether psychological or moral, and its cause.
He said to me: (Resulting from this pain, a type of objection occurred in my heart against the decree of Allah. The problem is that I will soon go through a similar circumstance and I might suffer similar pain even though I took the means, and I fear that this objection will fall into my heart. So what should I do?).
I would like to share the answer with my brothers for benefit: In addition to reminding that this world is a house of tribulation, and attaching the soul to the reward and the Hereafter, it is important in such a case to isolate this bad feeling (objection to the decree) from the self, meaning that you hate this feeling and do not hate yourself. For the one who fears for himself from this feeling and resorts to others to help him get rid of it, what drives him to do so is the love of Allah and the glorification of Allah. So he must love this aspect of himself, and know that this aspect is the authentic one in himself. Whereas objection is a fleeting feeling, not part of his psychological makeup, so he seeks help from Allah to repel it, not letting this feeling distance him from Allah... Address yourself: (You are not a bad person objecting to Allah, but rather this bad feeling "alien to you" fell into your soul, driving you to the shelter of Allah to protect yourself with Him from this feeling).
This is important because one of Satan's methods is to make you hate yourself so you loosen your hands from the rope of Allah to throw yourself into the valleys of doubt and discontent... and he deludes you initially that self-flagellation and self-loathing are what is required regarding these negative feelings! Rather, isolate this feeling and increase supplication and righteous deeds so that Allah helps you get rid of it, so the feeling turns into increased closeness.
Another benefit: That if a human is afflicted with some of these negative feelings, his asking those who can actually help him is an act of worship for which he is rewarded, and your isolation of this feeling from yourself helps you not to be shy of asking the people of knowledge, because you do not consider this feeling to indicate an authentic evil within you. Whereas the hypocrites, the beginning of their destruction was that malicious actions of the heart occurred in them, such as objection, hatred for the religion, and love for disbelief and its people, but they were not keen to get rid of them, and they did not ask nor resort to Allah to be saved. Rather, they lied to hide them and did evil, so they grew them until they destroyed them: (In their hearts is disease, so Allah has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they [habitually] used to lie).
O Allah, purify our hearts.
