I usually walk to my office, and on my way, I see workers with a touch of misery on their faces as they head to their jobs. So I initiate the greeting of peace to them, hoping that a greeting from a stranger might be one of the few morale-boosting doses they receive in their day; a feeling that someone saw you, respected you, and cared to greet you. And I say: Perhaps this is one of the meanings of the Prophet's saying, peace be upon him: (Spread peace among yourselves); that a Muslim strengthens his brother with a simple gesture that costs neither time nor effort, but requires you to appreciate the brotherhood of religion and pay attention to them.
