The Tragedy of Swaar Abu Draaz: A Bloody Target in the Tents of the Displaced
Swaar Abu Draaz, a one-year-old Gazan infant, was sleeping in her mother’s arms last night when a missile struck their tent, taking both of their lives—may God have mercy on them.
I can just picture the wretched soul launching the missile, turning to his companion and saying, “Come, let’s amuse ourselves. This tent… fire! Go!” Then they laugh, exploiting the world’s preoccupation with targets that shake the screens in America—the same America that supplies them with the missiles to achieve their bloody goals in the tents of the displaced.
The Hypocrisy of Feminist Organizations and Western Governments
So where are the women’s rights organizations and their Western government funders? They are busy with what matters most to them. For example, Britain is currently preparing to pass a law criminalizing therapy for individuals with same-sex attractions.
This means that if a girl is subjected to school and media brainwashing that encourages her to attempt to transition to a male or convinces her to engage in same-sex relations, and she is affected by it, then decides she wants to return to her natural disposition and correct her inclinations—no, that is forbidden! And if it is discovered that a doctor, male or female, is helping her, they will face up to five years in prison and an unlimited fine.
These are the women’s rights they so vigorously defend. But the tearing apart of Swaar and her mother by missiles, along with the other children and women of Gaza—well, that is unimportant. On the contrary, these very countries are the ones supplying the weapons to tear them apart.
The Priorities of the United Nations: Criminalizing Chastity and Legalizing Obscenity
So where are the international organizations that Muslims know are the refuge and support for every oppressed person seeking aid? These organizations, such as the United Nations, have long declared their priorities, as evident in the title of this report: “Criminalizing Zina as a Violation of the Human Rights of Teenagers.”
The Working Group on Discrimination Against Women and Girls prioritizes protecting the right of women and girls to commit zina (fornication), while Swaar and her mother belong to a pure environment that rejects such sin. The United Nations would intervene immediately if “crimes” like early marriage of girls aged 16 or 17 were practiced in Gaza. It would rush in to tell her and her parents, “Fornication is permitted and is her right, but marriage is too early and forbidden.”
A Call for Awareness and Action: Do Not Die in Passive Submission
After this segment, I do not want you to die in passive submission, nor to merely comment with “God is sufficient for me, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.” Turn this pain into shining a light on Gaza once more, for they spend hundreds of millions polishing their image and bet on the World Cup so the world forgets Gaza’s suffering.
Turn this pain into rising above moral failings. By God, my people, it is unacceptable that we are in this state and still debating whether young men should abandon pornography! Turn this pain into awareness, into a revolution against the remnants of these ideologies in our lives, our thinking, our view of women, and women’s view of themselves—remnants that spread feminism and destroyed families.
Turn this pain into support for your brothers in whatever way you can. O God, have mercy on Swaar and her mother, curse the criminals, save our brothers, and grant us victory in supporting them.
