Allah Allah O company of Muslims
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
Ash'ath bin Qais' Call to Mu'awiyah
Al-Hafiz Ibn Asakir narrated in the History of Damascus that Ash'ath bin Qais al-Kindi came to Mu'awiyah, may Allah be pleased with them both, during the Battle of Siffin and said: "Allah, Allah, O Mu'awiyah, in the nation of Muhammad, peace be upon him! Suppose you kill the people of Iraq, who will be there for the heirs and the children? Or suppose we kill the people of Syria, who will be there for the heirs and the children? Allah, Allah." Then, not long after, a truce was made.
It was a sincere and profound call from a wounded heart when he saw the Muslims fighting each other, leaving behind women and children without providers, and open fronts inviting external enemies to invade and spread corruption. He reminded his opponents of Allah and that they were all Muslims, and he appealed to them to defend themselves against the enemy and show mercy to the dependents.
A Call Through History
It is as if it is a profound call whose echoes resonate through history: "Allah, Allah, O gathering of Muslims! O gathering of Muslims! Who will be there for the women and children? Who will be there for the Romans and the Daylamites? Allah and survival, O gathering of Muslims."
This was a day when Islam was a state with a noble side, and there was no land that was open to them, nor was there a Muslim or a Muslim woman in the hands of the Romans carrying in her womb the seeds of dogs.
A Message to the Mujahideen in Syria
We say this today to the crowns of the heads, the defenders of the honor, the Mujahideen in Syria. There has been no fighting among them, praise be to Allah, but we say this to strengthen their wisdom and mercy towards each other, and to prevent any fitna that may arise, for prevention is better than cure.
We say to the black of the nation, the Mujahideen: Fear Allah, O Mujahideen, and do not be like those who broke their spinning after strength. Do not disappoint the nation's hope in you. It has been nearly a year and a half since your Jihad, in which you have restored hope to the nation after the setbacks of the Arab Spring. By you, Allah has protected the beliefs of the Muslims, by you, Allah has protected the beliefs of the Muslims from thinking that the forces of disbelief can do as they please and associate them with Allah in fear and hope.
Your Jihad has restored to the Muslims the belief in the verses: {If you help Allah, He will help you}, and {And whoever relies upon Allah, then He is sufficient for him}. By the rope of your Jihad, we hold on to the Muslims, and to it, we call the lost in the alleys of democracy and reliance on the enemies.
If you fail and dispute after the hearts have attached to you, then the sin is not like the sin of others. We seek refuge with Allah that your foot may slip after it has been firm, and that you may taste evil for what you have turned away from the path of Allah, and for you is a great punishment.
The Danger of Dispute in Decisive Battles
In the decisive battles of Islam, honor is doubled and crime is doubled. In a hadith narrated by Muslim about the Muslims fighting the Romans at Dabiq in the suburbs of Aleppo, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, mentioned the division of the Muslim army into three sections: severe punishment and eternal deprivation as a reward for defeat. By Allah, defeat is no less harmful than dispute and transgression of some of you against others in such a critical situation.
We say this speech and no fighting, because if it happens, it is by the will of Allah, then the sound of bullets will rise above the cries of the advisors.
Warning Against the Use of Force Among Brothers
O crowns of the heads, perhaps some of you have read in history that a Muslim leader subdued his opponents by force and then united the ranks for the war against the disbelievers, so perhaps the soul justifies the use of force and severity against your brothers in the hope of repeating something like that.
We remind you, O the most honored by Allah: Your opponents are not like the rulers of Al-Andalus, but they want the state of Islam as you do. You are not like Yusuf ibn Tashfin or Nur ad-Din and Salah ad-Din in strength and dominance. And your enemy has no more desirable ambition than your division and your severity against yourselves. And you have known that if you tread a step, the disbelievers are enraged by it for your sake, so your division is nothing but gloating for your enemy in you.
Means of the Enemies and Dangers of Dispute
O Mujahideen, by Allah, we do not fear for you the world's ganging up on you while we read His saying: {And if you are patient and fear Allah, their cunning will not harm you in the least}. But we fear for you all the fear of contradicting His saying: {And do not dispute lest you fail and your strength departs from you}.
These are the means of the three enemies of the nation in fighting you: tearing your clothes, using the merchants of defeat as they use the muezzins of the preacher today to promote the surrender of power to the deputy of Assad on the faces of the people, and the last and least important means: the use of force.
And the Muslims of Syria are watching, if they see division and hatred among you, they fear that they will despair and follow the traitors under the weight of the machine of destruction. Do not tempt people away from their religion and do not gloat over us, the enemies.
Reminder of Allah's Blessings and the Condition of Their Continuance
O black of the nation, O Mujahideen, in this year and a half of your Jihad, may Allah show you the victories and acceptance in the hearts of the people and the good praise that you love. If you change what you have with yourselves and your intentions are mixed, then remember that Allah has not changed the blessing He has bestowed upon a people until they change what they have with themselves.
When you fail and dispute in the matter and disobey after you have been shown what you love, among you is he who wants the world and among you is he who wants the hereafter, among you is he who wants the world. This is the breaking of the back. And let no one absolve all the Mujahideen of that, for Allah addressed the Companions with this verse, and you will not find any change in the law of Allah.
But if the intention is sincere for Allah, then rejoice in the pleasure, tranquility, and the near victory: {Indeed, Allah was pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you under the tree, and He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquility upon them and rewarded them with an imminent conquest}.
The Calamity of Religion and Injustice
If division and dispute occur, O Mujahideen, know that it is a calamity in religion that does not occur except by disobedience: {So for what your hands have earned and He pardons much}. You said that this is from yourselves. In the presence of difference and polarization and the pride of every person in his opinion, we are in dire need that Allah may enlighten our insights and make us know His will from us and grant us the discernment by which we distinguish right from wrong.
O Mujahideen, if you wrong your brother or backbite him or neglect to convey the negatives about him, giving precedence to your team, then you thereby invite deprivation from guidance and falling into transgression, the punishment of which is severe in such difficult circumstances. Allah concluded ten verses of His Book with His saying: {And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people} or {Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people}.
Seek, may Allah guide you, for weights of an atom of your injustice to your brothers before your insight is extinguished. Seek, may Allah guide you, for weights of an atom of arrogance, for it deprives you of guidance, and thus Allah seals every arrogant, tyrannical heart.
Humility to Brothers and Drawing Near to Allah
Ask yourself, O Mujahideen: Are you humble to your Mujahideen brothers from the factions that declare their submission to the Book of Allah? Are you humble to them? The more you humble yourself to your brothers, the more Allah will give you honor over the disbelievers: {So soon will He give you honor over the believers and give you strength against the disbelievers}.
I do not speak of those who want a civil democratic state with a hat, I speak of your brothers who say we want a state of servitude to Allah and the application of the Sharia, and even if you differ with them in some details of the legal policy. Are they not Muslims in the end, brother? Then the Sharia that you call for commands you to be humble to them, are we like that in reality?
O Mujahideen, do not let Jihad distract you from drawing near to Allah with voluntary acts until He loves you, and if He loves you, you will be the hearing by which He hears and the seeing by which He sees. If you hear with Allah and see with Allah, you will know His will from you and what brings you closer to Him and keeps you away from transgression.
O beloved, in the midst of the conflict, do not forget to resort to Allah with supplication: "O My servants, you are all astray except those whom I have guided, so guide me to the truth of what is different from it by Your leave. You guide whom You will to a straight path." In the depths of the night: "O Allah, Lord of Jibreel, Meekaeel, and Israfeel, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, You judge between Your servants in that which they differ. Guide me to the truth of what is different from it by Your leave. You guide whom You will to a straight path."
Envy and the Fear of Allah
O Mujahid, govern yourself and hold yourself accountable for even the smallest amount of envy towards your Mujahideen brothers. Envy, envy towards your Mujahideen brothers whom Allah has blessed with openings and made beloved in the hearts of people. By Allah, this is not the time for envy. If the Ummah of Islam were in a better state, this would be easier. But envy in such circumstances, while your brothers are being tortured and your sisters are being violated, is by Allah, a greater sin and more severe in its consequences.
Remember that what the People of the Book were forbidden from enjoying in this world and the Hereafter is envy. Envy blinds, deafens, and dims the sight. And nothing caused their division except envy: "And they were not divided until after the knowledge had come to them, out of envy for one another." (Surah Al-Ankabut 3:21) Envy and the pursuit of leadership.
O Mujahid, the essence of the matter is the fear of Allah, the Most High: "O you who have believed, if you fear Allah, He will make for you a criterion." (Surah Al-Anfal 8:29) "O you who have believed, fear Allah and believe in His Messenger; He will give you in double portion of His mercy and will make for you a light by which you will walk." (Surah Al-Hadid 57:28)
Conclusion and a Final Call
We say these words knowing that many of our Mujahideen leaders know this and apply it in reality. They have sacrificed their own chances and humbled themselves before their brothers, endured injustice with patience and forbearance, and said: "By Allah, we will make our blood a shield for the blood of the Muslims, and we will not make the blood of the Muslims a shield for our blood." They prefer to be killed unjustly rather than harm their brothers. These are the righteous leaders; we are their servants, aiding them in reminding their opponents and igniting the faith in their hearts.
In conclusion, we stand before our leaders from all the Mujahideen factions to say: "Allah, Allah, O people of Islam! O people of Islam! Who will take care of the widows and orphans? Who will take care of the widows and orphans? Who will take care of the elderly and the destitute? Who will take care of the prisoners in jails being tortured? Who will take care of the chaste captive women? Who will take care of the chaste captive women who are defiled by dogs and wish for death but do not find it? Who will take care of the disabled from the effects of wars? Who will take care of the lands whose people are dependents upon you? Who will take care of the short ones, Homs, the coast, the countryside of Damascus, and the remaining lands? Who will take care of the drowning Ummah? And who will take care of the soldiers of disbelief, Hezbollah, and the gangs of Iran? Who will take care of the conspiring international system? Allah is sufficient for us, O people of Islam."
O Allah, unite the hearts of the Mujahideen and gather them upon the most pious heart among them, and aid us in supporting them. Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
