Wikipedia, the free global encyclopedia, is widespread and used by millions as a source of information. If you write on the site "Death Toll," meaning a list of fatalities, it will show you a list of the most deadly wars and massacres in ancient and modern history.
Until recently, it was notable that Muslims never had a role at the top of this list. The Islamic conquests as a whole did not result in as many deaths as in any of the major ancient or modern wars. We would say to the critics of Islam and those who claim it was spread by force: Even in terms of numbers, look at what the world has suffered and continues to suffer in the absence of Islamic rule, and compare it to the justice and mercy under Islam.
We do not measure the issue by the number of deaths, but by what they were killed for and whether they deserved it or not. The conviction of the principle of jihad to enforce the dominance of Islam and prevent the ruling regimes from enslaving people is a result of the conviction that this religion is from Allah the Almighty. But even in terms of numbers, Islam was indeed a mercy to the worlds.
