Blessed Recitation
Woe to him who slanders and goes about with slander, who piles up wealth and thinks it will make him last. Indeed, he is keenly inclined to destruction. If he has wealth and children, when Our verses are recited to him, he says, "These are but tales of the former peoples."
We will brand him on the snout. Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden when they swore, "We will surely take it by morning, and we will not be denied." But they did not consider [it possible] that there would be a plan from Allah, but they persisted in their denial of the coming Day. So they went early in the morning, thinking that they had power over it. But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we have been deprived." Rather, they were deprived [of the garden] by what they had been doing. Said the most sensible of them, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allah]?'"
