Renew your heart's life with the Quran so that your soul may find tranquility in faith. Recite it at all times and seek its rain of blessings and clouds of forgiveness.
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah. My brother, imagine you saw a stranger and smiled at him, then forgot about the incident. But this person gives you a car and says, "I will never forget your smile; I felt your sincere love for me." He then continues to call you, thanking you for your smile.
You find yourself in a dilemma, and he helps you, spending his time, effort, and wealth on you. You fall ill, and he visits you, feeding you with his own hands. You feel shy and say to him, "I do not deserve all this from you," and he replies, "No, I will never forget your smile at me." He continues to show you sincere love untainted by worldly interests. What do you call such a person? Affectionate, right? Do you not feel great shyness towards the affection of such a person, especially if you cannot repay his kindness and goodness?
And Allah has the highest example; Allah, Exalted be He, is "the Affectionate." He is pleased with His servant, loves him, and honors him for very simple actions that the servant may not even consider significant, with one condition: that these actions, words, or feelings are purely for the sake of Allah, the Most Generous.
Shu'ayb, peace be upon him, said to his people: "And seek forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is Merciful and Affectionate." Look at the words of the Prophet, peace be upon him - and the hadith is authentic, narrated by At-Tirmidhi - about a word that perhaps the servant forgot and did not imagine it would reach such a level with Allah, but He, Exalted be He, is pleased with it from the servant forever; because He is the Affectionate.
And in the authentic hadith: There was a branch of a tree on the road that was harming people, so a man removed it and entered Paradise. A simple deed, but we are dealing with the Affectionate, Exalted be He. Allah, Exalted be He, multiplies a good deed to ten times its like, to seven hundred times, to many multiples; because He, Exalted be He, is the Affectionate.
A tear that falls from you in a moment when you contemplate the tenderness of Allah, the generosity of Allah, the greatness of Allah, and the forbearance of Allah, a tear with which Allah shades you in His shade and prevents your eyes from the Fire; because He, Exalted be He, is the Affectionate.
And in the hadith narrated by Muslim, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, relates that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, says (in a sacred hadith): "Whoever comes with a good deed will have ten times its like, and more. And whoever comes with an evil deed will have only its like, or I will forgive him. And whoever draws near to Me by a hand's span, I will draw near to him by an arm's length. And whoever draws near to Me by an arm's length, I will draw near to him by a fathom. And whoever comes to Me walking, I will come to him running. And whoever meets Me with an earth's width of sin, not associating anything with Me, I will meet him with like it in forgiveness."
Yes, because He, Exalted be He, is the Affectionate. Therefore: "And seek forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is Merciful and Affectionate."
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
