Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the seal of the prophets and messengers. Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
This is a word regarding the events of Abbasia, I direct it to those who have a heart among the parties that claim to be Islamic. My words may not reach many, but I say them seeking forgiveness from your Lord, and perhaps they will be mindful. For my call is about the application of the Sharia, and in such a situation, an article is necessary.
This path of yours, O parties - O Party of Light and O Party of Freedom and Justice - it is not my custom to mention names, but the situation does not allow for anything but clarity and no room for hints; this path will only lead to further darkness, injustice, and slavery, not light, nor justice, nor freedom.
Fear Allah and withdraw from this trivial game; the game of democracy, parliament, and presidential elections, for it is truly a game that distracts you from your true role. Instead of leading the revolution, igniting it, and directing it in the right direction, you are distracted by these games that diminish your dignity in the eyes of the people, alienate your call, destroy trust in you, tame you, and subdue you.
This is not the place to elaborate on the evidence of the prohibition of what the parliamentarians have entered into, the concessions, and the involvement of secular forces in drafting the constitution. I am following a series titled "In Support of the Sharia," in which I clarify the illegitimacy of these paths and refute the evidence presented by those who have taken them. I will not bring you knowledge you do not know or a hadith you have not read, but this is a cry to your faces: Awaken.. Awaken! And nothing in the minds is valid if the day needs evidence.
The truth has become clear to those with insight; the military council is taming you, mocking you, and dulling your senses. They kill your brothers in Abbasia and call you to meet to get you used to accepting humiliation and degradation. The military council lowers the ceiling of your demands and extracts concession after concession from you day after day, until when the matter is settled for him, you will be the first to be sacrificed in the manner of "The white bull was eaten."
Those who fall in Abbasia now, demanding the departure of the military and the implementation of the Sharia, are martyrs by the permission of Allah. And when your turn comes and the military hunts you down after the need for you has ended, you will be unblessed, not blessed, and it will be said to you as it was said to (Abu Abd Allah the Small) at the fall of Granada: "Weep like women for a kingdom you did not defend like men."
Allah the Almighty says: {O you who have believed, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies, extending to them affection while they have disbelieved in what came to you of the truth, expelling the Messenger and you because you believe in Allah, your Lord. If you have come out for jihad in My cause and seeking means to Me, concealing your affection for them. And I have made clear to you the verses, and if you are sensible.} Enough of your good opinion in the wrong place, {And they will continue to fight you until they turn you away from your religion if they are able.}
You have become like the rulers of the Arabs in your condemnation; yesterday you exposed the rulers who were content with condemning what was happening in neighboring countries like Palestine and Iraq. You learned the terminology of the surrendering rulers and began to use it to prepare yourselves for the role.
O sheikhs of the Salafi call - and the speech is of course not for all of them, for among them are those who are sincere in what we consider them to be our sheikhs and leaders - the speech is for those who have abandoned the Sharia and taken the path of elections, humiliation, and concession, and have taken refuge in Shenouda, and nominated secularists to draft the constitution: Where are your lessons? Where is your Salafism? Where is your Islamism? Rather, where is your Islam? Rather, where is your honor and nobility?
You see the blood of your brothers who demand the Sharia being shed, and you are still in the farce of the presidential elections and the agreement with the military to draft the constitution and form the government! Are you afraid that the country will enter a dark tunnel? By Allah, you are the ones who are leading it into this tunnel when you abandon those who demand the Sharia and turn to the military, deceive the people, and support those who call for a "democratic state with an Islamic reference." Are you afraid of bloodshed? It will be shed in any case, but either as black sheep stabbed in the chest, or as sheep slaughtered without dignity.
I will conclude with a great speech by Sayyid Qutb with a slight abbreviation, Sayyid Qutb whom the Brotherhood and Salafis emulate and claim affiliation to. This speech is harsh, but by Allah, it is in its place, and each has a share according to his condition. Listen and understand; listen, O Party of Light, listen, O Party of Justice, for by Allah, the water of gold is little for this speech, and it is the duty of each of us to hear it once, twice, three times, then review it periodically, then let the people of Egypt hear. Listen, O sons of Sayyid Qutb and Abd al-Qadir Awdah, for there is a message directed from Sayyid to you, O people.
May Allah have mercy on him - the Sayyid who paid the price of dignity, so may Allah revive with his words the souls of millions, the Sayyid whose trust in the promise of Allah was great and whose sincerity with Allah we consider, so may Allah raise his mention and cast his glorification in the hearts of the people - said:
"There is a price for humiliation just as there is a price for dignity. Listen, O you who fear to pay the price of dignity: there is a price for humiliation just as there is a price for dignity, and some weak souls imagine that the price of dignity is exorbitant and unbearable, so they choose humiliation and degradation to escape these heavy costs, and live a trivial, cheap, frightening, and anxious life, fearing their own shadow and the echo of their voice, {They think every cry is against them}, {And you will find them the most avid of people for life.}
These wretches pay a price more severe than the costs of dignity; they pay the full price of humiliation, unabated, they pay it from their souls, they pay it from their destinies, they pay it from their reputation, they pay it from their tranquility, and often they pay it with their blood and wealth without realizing it. And they think they gain in return for the dignity they offer, proximity to the powerful and the rulers when they pay them the price of humiliation while they are submissive, but in the end, it is cheap, cheap, easy, easy, even for the masters who used them.
How many men could have been noble, honorable, and preserved the trust of Allah in their hands, maintained the dignity of truth and human dignity, guarded the truth, and stood with dignity, and in this position, they were feared, and no one could do anything to them, not even those who did not want him to guard the trust. But when he betrayed the trust in his hands, weakened from the costs of dignity, and stripped himself of the honor of truth; he became cheap to those who feared him, humiliated by those who feared the truth he was its guardian, and cheap to those who tried to buy him, until they disregarded buying him, then he was cast aside like a carcass, and kicked by the feet; the feet of those who once admired and respected him when he had the truth and dignity and the trust as a refuge."
Listen, O Salafis, listen, O Party of Justice and Freedom. As it has been said: "The world sees the trial as it approaches, and the ignorant sees it as it has passed." These are the words of Sayyid Qutb to you:
"Many are those who fall from the peak to the abyss, whom no one pities and for whom no one shows mercy, and no one walks in their funeral processions. Even the nobles who once stood tall fall from the heights of dignity to the depths of humiliation, from the pride of truth to the abyss of misguidance. Despite the abundance of lessons and experiences, we still witness daily a victim; a victim who pays the full price of humiliation, a victim who betrays Allah and people, sacrifices trust and dignity, and chases after the nobles and the false promises and mirages, only to fall and retreat in humiliation and disgrace, looked upon by people with schadenfreude and by the nobles with contempt."
This future that Sayyid draws for you, listen and understand. Sayyid said: "In my limited lifetime - and I still witness - dozens of great men bow their heads to other than the Almighty, and advance humbly, bearing the taxes of humiliation that bend their shoulders, lower their heads, twist their necks, and bow their heads, then are cast aside after they have placed their burdens and delivered their goods, stripped of the good in this world and the Hereafter, and proceed in the caravan of the enslaved, unnoticed by anyone, not even the executioner! I have seen them, and they had the ability to be free, but they choose slavery; they had the strength to be strong, but they choose cowardice; they had the power to be feared, but they choose cowardice and humiliation; and they have the power to make the mighty and the powerful fear them."
Listen, O noble people of Egypt, to what Sayyid will say to you now: "So you continue to pay the taxes of slavery repeatedly; taxes that cannot be measured against the costs of freedom and do not reach a tenth of it. Long ago, the Jews said to their prophet: {O Moses, we will never enter it as long as they are therein. So go you and your Lord and fight. Indeed, we are sitting right here.} Thus, they paid the price of this cowardice instead of the costs of honor for forty years, wandering in the desert, eaten by the sands, humiliated by exile, and scattered by fears. They would not have paid a fraction of all this as the price of honor and victory in the world of men.
There is an inevitable tax that individuals, groups, and peoples must pay; either this tax is paid for honor, dignity, and freedom, or it is paid for humiliation, disgrace, and slavery. All experiences testify to this inescapable truth."
May Allah have mercy on Sayyid, who finally said: "To those who differentiate between the costs of freedom, to those who fear the consequences of dignity, to those who rub their cheeks under the feet of others, to those who betray their trusts, betray their dignities, betray their humanity, and betray the great sacrifices made by their nation to free itself and break free; to all of you, I call upon you to look at the lessons of history and the lessons of recent reality, and to ponder the repeated examples that testify that the tax of humiliation is more severe than the tax of dignity, and that the costs of freedom are less than the costs of slavery, and that those who prepare for death are granted life, and those who do not fear poverty are granted sustenance, and those who do not fear the mighty and the powerful make the mighty and the powerful fear them. We have many examples, close at hand, of those who have sold their consciences, betrayed their trusts, abandoned the truth, and wallowed in the mud, only to depart unwept and unsung, cursed by Allah and cursed by people. And there are also examples - though they are few - of those who refuse to be humiliated, refuse to betray, and refuse to sell their manhood. Some of them have lived honorably and died honorably."
May Allah have mercy on you, O Sayyid, for you lived as a man and died as a man, lived with strength and died with strength, lived with honor and died with honor.
O Allah, the Most Merciful of the merciful, Lord of the worlds, the Most Merciful of the merciful, benefit my brothers in Egypt with this speech, benefit the workers of Islam in Egypt with this speech, benefit those who affiliate with Islam in Egypt with this speech, and benefit the people of Egypt, O Lord of the worlds.
O Allah, send prayers and blessings upon Muhammad and his family and companions.
