For Those Who Care About Ending Syria's Suffering!
Introduction to the Jurisprudence of Trials and Succession
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings, dear brothers.
After the statement "Combating the Islamic Project in Syria," some people considered that we did not take into account the suffering of the Syrian people in our speech, and they spoke to us as if they were more concerned than us about ending the suffering. Perhaps these brothers assume that forming the "coalition" will end the suffering, and that we reject it for the reasons stated in the speech. But can the formation of the coalition under a Western umbrella actually speed up the end of the suffering?
Firstly, as Muslims, we believe that we were created in this life to be tested by Allah, and then to reward those who do evil with what they have done and to reward those who do good with goodness. We know that Allah the Almighty can end the suffering with a miracle from Him, but He has not done so, glorified be He, to test us and see what we do: "That is so. And if Allah willed, He could have punished them [Himself], but [He ordered the fighting] that He might test some of you by means of others."
He tests us, glorified be He, to see who will succeed in the test: "And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient." The goal of the believer is not to get out of the trial in any way, but to get out of it successfully; either a life that pleases the friend, or a death that enrages the enemies. The goal of the believer is to act in the trial in a way that pleases Allah the Almighty, and this is what the heroic Syrian people have done so far, and this is the success that we fear will be lost by the formation of the coalition, which will change the course of the revolution and convince people of outcomes that make them like those who do the work of the people of Paradise until there is only a handbreadth between them and it, then do the work of the people of Hell and enter it.
Will the Coalition Speed Up the End of Suffering?
Apart from success or failure in the test of trial, does the formation of the coalition under a Western umbrella actually speed up the end of suffering? We will answer this question from three aspects: the Western powers, the Assad regime, and the Syrian people.
Firstly: From the Perspective of the Western Powers
The Western powers certainly do not care about ending the suffering, for Allah the Almighty has described them as saying: "They love that harm should strike you." If the Western powers see an interest in prolonging the suffering, they will have a new way to do so this time, which is to transfer the battle between the mujahideen and the forces of disbelief to embarrass this coalition and weaken it itself, even though it is a creation of these Western countries, in order to make it dependent on them so that it does not go against their will.
The recommendations of Western strategic planning centers indicate this methodology in dealing with "moderate movements," and the necessity of not being preoccupied with using them to strike jihadist currents in front of the people to tame them, curb their enthusiasm, and prevent them from going out of the line drawn for them. The Western powers do not deal with the coalition and its likes as allies or friends, but as a temporary tool to implement a mission that serves their interests. They will not provide it with weapons to serve the revolution, but out of fear that the matter of the revolution will fall into the hands of the mujahideen.
Justin Vais, a researcher at the Brookings Institution, says:
"The lack of military intervention in Syria has led the conflict against the regime to take a radical (extremist) turn, which opens the door for the entry of jihadists and Al-Qaeda and for a civil war that will have repercussions on Jordan, Iraq, and the balances in Lebanon."
And Marina Ottaway, a researcher at the American Carnegie Center, said:
"The United States wants a unified military organization to which it can send financial and military aid and cut off the way for jihadists."
Therefore, the Western powers formed the coalition not to speed up the overthrow of Assad, but to speed up the abortion of the jihadi Islamic project. Otherwise, if the West were interested in speeding up the overthrow of Assad or changing him, it would have settled the matter with a military intervention that is not expected to cost much with this crumbling, tottering regime. It is enough for the Western world to instruct neighboring countries to turn a blind eye to the flow of mujahideen and material support, but instead, we saw a sudden tightening to close this door so that the mujahideen and popular support do not have a role in shaping the future of Syria.
Secondly: From the Perspective of the Assad Regime
It is expected that Assad will use this Western support for the National Coalition to justify his crimes and oppression against the Muslims who oppose him, on the grounds that they are "agents of America and France" in his claim. It is also expected that the deception will intensify against those who see this regime as a "resistance and steadfastness system" standing in the face of imperialist powers as they say; therefore, the formation of the coalition under the Western umbrella strengthens the position of Bashar al-Assad in this regard.
Thirdly: From the Perspective of the Syrian People
Jihad in Syria until now is pure, clear in its objectives, and this purity raises the morale of the fighters and raises the morale of the Syrian people, and therefore we have seen from this people steadfastness, patience, and unparalleled heroism.
If Western conditional support begins, we do not expect similar morale from the fighters when they see the Western powers trying to use them against Assad to achieve their agendas; the matter will not be at that time a conflict of right and wrong as it has been throughout the past months, but a conflict of wrong and wrong by proxy, in which the Western powers achieve their agendas while the Muslims in its margins and incidental loopholes search for crumbs of dignity.
Will we expect steadfastness and sacrifice from a people and fighters who see Western politicians sitting and waiting for the end of the battle to reap the fruits, as we expect when their fighting and patience are "until there is no fitnah, and all religion is for Allah"?
Then, if the feared happens with the clash of the coalition with the jihadi factions as planned, and it is accompanied by media distortion that turns the aggressor into a victim and the victim into an aggressor, what negative effect will that have on the morale of every Muslim in Syria and indeed in the world? And how many of the sincere will hesitate to support this jihad with their lives or wealth when jihad in their view has turned into a fitnah among Muslims? And how successful will the international community be in convincing people that wherever there is jihad, there are problems, a lack of stability, and endless suffering, to convince people of diplomacy and concessions as an alternative to the jihadi project?
Confusion of Intent and Purpose
The most important of all the above, brothers, is the negative role of the formation of the coalition in confusing the intention and purpose of the people in fighting; it is for the sake of Allah, then it was accompanied by the birth of the coalition playing the tune of "let the word of the people be the highest," and introducing people to the labyrinths of democracy, majority rule, and not imposing the Islamic state, these philosophies that people were in no need of, and which cannot be taken by those who died for them the rule of those who fought so that the word of Allah is the highest.
For all of the above, we do not agree with the opponents that the formation of the coalition under a Western umbrella will speed up the end of Bashar's rule, and even if it does end it quickly in fact - which is possible - that does not mean the end of suffering; for the international community plans to remove the thorn whose name is Bashar and keep the roots that can grow a thousand Bashars to the detriment of the Islamic project in Syria, in which the jihadi condition has taken root.
Dangerous Consequences and a Final Warning
If the international community succeeds in using the "coalition glove" to carry out this dirty task, the suffering will continue and the bloodshed will persist. However, instead of being shed for the sake of God, it is feared that it will be shed in a war between factions that could have united to build the nation's glory. The sole beneficiary of this will be the dogs of the West, who have licked the water of the revolution and spoiled it, while the biggest loser will be the Syrian people, whose suffering will not end and whose sacrifices will not be crowned with the glory of the nation.
Let our people in Syria realize that they have embarked on a battle that will not result in a meager outcome like the one we have seen in the Arab Spring countries, with crumbs of freedom or a little venting. Rather, there are two choices, with no third option in sight:
- Either victory, patience, and empowerment, even if delayed.
- Or rushing the relief through means that pollute the revolution and spoil the outcome, yet it will not stop the suffering.
We say to the leaders: Yes, indeed, enough blood, enough torment, and enough pain without the desired empowerment. Therefore, learn the lesson, we implore you. It is forbidden for you to fear God in the peoples! For your logic has derailed a thousand revolutions before, wasting the precious blood. And now, the only thing left for the nation is to deepen its despair and pass through the agendas of its enemies, who rejoice in your disappointment, and the wrath of God upon those who deviated from His law and from the path of His Prophet, peace be upon him, with philosophies they thought were reason, wisdom, and cunning.
So learn and take heed, and the wise is he who learns from others.
Peace be upon you and the mercy of God.
