Peace be upon you, my brothers. If we had one hundred loaves of bread and divided them among one hundred people, how much would each person get? One loaf. If we divided them among a country with a population of ten million people, how much would each person get? A tiny crumb. If we divided them among the Earth's population—approximately nine billion people—each person would get a speck invisible to the naked eye.
If we divided the one hundred loaves among an infinite number of people, each person's share would be "mathematical zero." This is a well-known rule in mathematics: no matter how large a number is, if you divide it by infinity, it equals mathematical zero. Similarly, this world in relation to the Hereafter is like mathematical zero.
Why do I say this? Because we are living in a difficult period where we see what is happening to our brothers in Gaza, in Sudan, and in other parts of the world. Sometimes, we are so engrossed in the present moment that we forget to ask, "When will God grant us victory?" and "Where is justice?" We forget that this world is a place of trial, not a place of reward.
Even before the Hereafter, if we consider this world, all this tyranny, oppression, and crime will one day be erased, just as the pages of previous nations were turned. The believers in those days suffered; when the believers were burned in the ditch, they suffered before and during that time. But now, their tormentors are in Hell, suffering in the grave and then in the Fire of Hell, while the believers are enjoying bliss in their graves and then entering Paradise forever, eternally.
I love Surah Ash-Shu'ara very much; it has a magnificent and beautiful grandeur because it speaks of people who transgressed, committed injustice, spread corruption, and thought they were invincible. But when their time comes, God erases their page and says: "Indeed, in that is a sign, and most of them were not believers. And indeed, your Lord is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful."
How arrogant was Pharaoh! He deified himself and said, "I am your highest lord," and did what he did to the Children of Israel; he killed their sons and spared their women. The people of Noah disbelieved in Noah and mocked him and those with him for 950 years, then their time came, and they were drowned: "Indeed, in that is a sign, and most of them were not believers. And indeed, your Lord is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful."
And then there were the people of 'Ad, Thamud, the people of Lot, the companions of the Wood... God mentions the story of each of them and how He destroyed them and turned their page, saying, "Indeed, in that is a sign, and most of them were not believers. And indeed, your Lord is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful."
The criminals of today will have their page turned as well. "Let not the turning of the disbelievers in the lands delude you." The day will come when the trees and stones will speak after witnessing the crimes and say, "O believer, O servant of God, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him." No, it is a word of truth meant for truth.
When we tell people to resist oppression with their hands, their tongues, and their hearts as much as they can. Support your brothers with all the strength you have, and disassociate yourselves from the criminals and do not stand with them. If you face hardship and sadness in doing so, remember that this world is "mathematical zero," and in the Hereafter, there is severe punishment, forgiveness from God, and His pleasure.
And remember, noble ones: "Verily, the merchandise of God is precious; verily, the merchandise of God is Paradise." This eternal abode with no end in Paradise has a price, and God has a price. Your brothers whom you see being burned, their limbs amputated, killed, and their bodies torn apart; these people will forget everything that happened to them with a single dip in Paradise. What about residing there eternally forever?
"O you who have believed, endure and be more patient and stand guard and fear Allah that you may be successful." And peace be upon you and the mercy of God.
