Hagia Sophia Mosque
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
The First Joy and Objections
Dear brothers, about two hours ago, I posted two words expressing joy at the restoration of the Hagia Sophia Mosque for prayer and the call to prayer. In the comments, some said: How can you rejoice, O Sheikh, at praying in a mosque that has shrines, and the shrines are in the direction of the qiblah?
Honestly, recently due to my extreme busyness, I did not verify the matter of Hagia Sophia and the shrines within it. It never occurred to me that there would be shrines. So I swore to post and then I verified myself and some of the brothers regarding the matter.
The Fact of the Existence of Shrines in Hagia Sophia
It turned out that the statement was incorrect. The Hagia Sophia Mosque does not have shrines inside it, there are no graves inside it, but there are graves attached to it outside the building.
And I object in fact to the brothers who speak with confidence about how one can rejoice in praying in a mosque that has shrines and the shrines are in the direction of the qiblah, and they unfortunately seem to speak out of ignorance of the matter. No, my brothers, the mosque does not have shrines, there are graves attached to it.
The Importance of Restoring Hagia Sophia
And it is not the place to elaborate on the subject of shrines, of course, meaning that raising graves is not permissible, but this is not the point here. The point here, my brothers, is that this is a mosque with its symbolism, its restoration should please the Muslims, that the call to prayer is raised in it and prayer is performed in it, this is something that delights every believer.
And the anger that befell the enemies of the religion, the polytheists, the Zionists of the Arabs, and some of those who have certain political agendas that they inject into everything, the anger that befell all of these should also be a joy for us at the same time.
We ask Allah, the Most High, to make us rejoice in the establishment of His Sharia in all aspects of life in the lands of the Muslims, and to use us in that.
Conclusion
So we return and say: The return of the Hagia Sophia Mosque is a joy for us as Muslims, and anger for those who are angry. A joy for us as Muslims, and we ask Allah, the Most High, to honor Islam and the Muslims and humiliate polytheism and the polytheists.
Peace be upon you.
