When this person died, many people expressed mercy for him, including parties said to be Islamic, unfortunately, on the grounds that he stood with the Palestinian cause, as if our religion is the religion of the Palestinian cause.

Expressing Mercy is Worship, Not a Game

So, I say in comment on all this, dear people: expressing mercy is worship, expressing mercy is not a game, it is worship. Our Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Supplication is worship." When you say "May Allah have mercy on him," this is a supplication. And the Prophet, peace be upon him, said in the authentic hadith: "Supplication is worship." Of course, worship must be as Allah has commanded, not according to the whims and moods of any of us.

Brother, expressing mercy is not to show your humanity and kindness, nor to plot against those you do not like among the scholars or the religious, nor to disassociate yourself from extremism and rigidity and show that you are an open-minded and merciful person. He who expresses mercy for those for whom it is not permissible to express mercy is a disobedient to Allah and His Messenger. And if he defends his mercy after the evidence has been presented, he is closer to being a liar to Allah and His Messenger.

Insisting on Expressing Mercy is a Denial of Allah and His Messenger

Yes, expressing mercy for those for whom it is not permissible and insisting on this is a denial of Allah and His Messenger.

  • Allah says to you: {Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him} [An-Nisa: 48], and you say: "No, my Lord, You will forgive me, my Lord, You will forgive me."
  • Allah says: {That is because they hated what Allah has sent down, so He has made their deeds fruitless} [Muhammad: 9], and you say about people who openly hate what Allah has sent down, their deeds, words, videos, and articles are filled with hatred for what Allah has sent down of the rulings of the Sharia, and they speak about the Quran with disgust and about the verses of Allah with disgust, and yet you say: "No, my Lord, no, my Lord, they have human deeds that You will not render fruitless." Allah says: {He has made their deeds fruitless}, "You will not render them fruitless, my Lord, You will count them for them and admit them to Paradise."
  • Allah the Almighty says about the hypocrites, who are much lighter in faith and much less than the heads of atheism and the new interpreters of the Quran, who are actually distorting the Quran, Allah says about them: {And never pray (funeral prayer) for any of them when he dies, nor stand at his grave} [At-Tawbah: 84]. The prayer for the deceased is for supplication for him, and standing at his grave is for supplication for him. If you say about an atheist, a person who distorts religion: "May Allah have mercy on him," that's it, there is no such thing as a sinner who is much less evil than them. The disbeliever, the Muslim, the atheist, the fighter against Allah, the distorter of the landmarks of religion, all are expected to be shown mercy by you, O compassionate human. Therefore, there is never any need for anyone to repent to Allah, glorified and exalted be He.

Our Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Strengthen the bonds of faith." Imagine your condition now, you are on the edge of a mountain about to fall, or on the edge of a valley about to fall, there is a knot at every bond, and they are tied together to save you. If the knot is weak, you will fall into the valley. If the knot is strong, you will not fall. If you do not have faith, you do not have faith even if you claim to be a Muslim.

Deification of Man and the Religion of Humanism

This compassion, my brothers, is the result of the deification of man, yes, the deification of man. Allah the Almighty said: {Have you seen him who has taken his desire as his god?} [Al-Furqan: 43]. Now some people have taken their desires as their god, and therefore they say to you: "It is enough that so-and-so did not kill a human being, Shahrour did not kill a human being, so-and-so did not kill a human being."

Well, what about the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime: {And temptation is greater than killing} [Al-Baqarah: 217], and in another verse: {And temptation is more severe than killing} [Al-Baqarah: 191]. One of them causes the death of many in disbelief to immortalize them in the fire of Hell. Shahrour caused the apostasy of a number of people through his deceptive methods. And Norhan Nasar also used to head and participate in associations that called people to atheism and disbelief. They caused many to disbelieve and therefore their immortality in the fire of Hell if you are a believer in the fire of Hell, O compassionate one.

And yet, it is as if you say: "No, no, O Lord, not to this extent, killing is much worse than making people disbelieve." Who is more knowledgeable, you or Allah? And if you think you are more knowledgeable, let the religion of humanity benefit you when the two angels come to you and ask you: "Who is your Lord? What is your religion?" All of them at that time: "My Lord is humanity." O my Lord, the god of humanity, the most important thing for him is that he does not get hurt, but disbelief in Allah and the right of Allah does not concern me. If a human runs atheism, it does not concern me. If a human speaks with mockery and arrogance towards the Sharia and the verses of Allah, it does not concern me. This means this is a very simple mistake in my humanism. When the two angels come to you and ask you: "What is your religion?" Tell them: "Humanism." Enter, my brother, the paradise of humanism, and I say my brother figuratively, enter then the paradise of humanism and do not expect the paradise of Allah, glorified and exalted be He. The one who, if you were a true believer, his right would be much greater with you than the issue of killing a human or not killing a human, because we are talking about the Lord of all people, the Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them if you are certain.

May Allah, the Great Lord of the Great Throne, grant us a good end, and steadfast us on faith, and use us in His obedience, and make us of His supporters, and guide those who have gone astray among the Muslims, and grant us and you a good end. And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
