The Phenomenon of "Tarahhum al-Hana'in"

Dear brothers, there is a recent widespread phenomenon known as "Tarahhum al-Hana'in" (the excessive expression of mercy). These are people who express mercy for everyone, whether they are Muslim or non-Muslim, whether they respect or mock Allah's law, or are arrogant towards it. As long as they are not violent or have not killed anyone, they are considered martyrs in the religion of humanism. It is permissible, even obligatory, to express mercy for them. Those who prohibit this are extremists, closed-minded, and bigoted.

Examples of "Tarahhum al-Hana'in"

In just a few months, several incidents of this nature have occurred:

1. Death of a person in Tunisia: He had stood in front of the Tunisian parliament and said arrogantly to Allah: "We have no relation to religion or the Quran or the Quranic verses. We deal with the constitution of the state, and we are in a civil state. The statement that the Tunisian state's reference is a religious reference is wrong and a grave mistake." He said all this with arrogance. When this person died, many people expressed mercy for him, including parties said to be Islamic, unfortunately, on the grounds that he stood with the Palestinian cause, as if our religion is the religion of the Palestinian cause.
2. Death of Muhammad Shahrur: Then Muhammad Shahrur died a few days ago, and there was also a wave of expressions of mercy for him.
3. Death of an Apostate Girl: Finally, yesterday or the day before, a girl who had apostatized from Islam and became an activist in spreading atheism died. The "Hana'in" called for mercy for her. I think the funeral prayer was also performed for her yesterday.

Expressing Mercy is Worship, Not a Game

So, I say in comment on all this, dear people: expressing mercy is worship, expressing mercy is not a game, it is worship. Our Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Supplication is worship." When you say "May Allah have mercy on him," this is a supplication. And the Prophet, peace be upon him, said in the authentic hadith: "Supplication is worship." Of course, worship must be as Allah has commanded, not according to the whims and moods of any of us.

Brother, expressing mercy is not to show your humanity and kindness, nor to plot against those you do not like among the scholars or the religious, nor to disassociate yourself from extremism and rigidity and show that you are an open-minded and merciful person. He who expresses mercy for those for whom it is not permissible to express mercy is a disobedient to Allah and His Messenger. And if he defends his mercy after the evidence has been presented, he is closer to being a liar to Allah and His Messenger.

Insisting on Expressing Mercy is a Denial of Allah and His Messenger

Yes, expressing mercy for those for whom it is not permissible and insisting on this is a denial of Allah and His Messenger.

• Allah says to you: {Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him} [An-Nisa: 48], and you say: "No, my Lord, You will forgive me, my Lord, You will forgive me."
• Allah says: {That is because they hated what Allah has sent down, so He has made their deeds fruitless} [Muhammad: 9], and you say about people who openly hate what Allah has sent down, their deeds, words, videos, and articles are filled with hatred for what Allah has sent down of the rulings of the Sharia, and they speak about the Quran with disgust and about the verses of Allah with disgust, and yet you say: "No, my Lord, no, my Lord, they have human deeds that You will not render fruitless." Allah says: {He has made their deeds fruitless}, "You will not render them fruitless, my Lord, You will count them for them and admit them to Paradise."
• Allah the Almighty says about the hypocrites, who are much lighter in faith and much less than the heads of atheism and the new interpreters of the Quran, who are actually distorting the Quran, Allah says about them: {And never pray (funeral prayer) for any of them when he dies, nor stand at his grave} [At-Tawbah: 84]. The prayer for the deceased is for supplication for him, and standing at his grave is for supplication for him. And you say: "No, my Lord, my humanity compels me to supplicate for them even if they fought You and distorted Your religion. Never mind, my Lord, I am more merciful than You, so I am compelled to supplicate for them."

A Crime Against the Living

And you who lie with your mercy, have you not thought about the crime you are committing against the living? Expressing mercy for those who died as disbelievers is a crime against the living, because that turns them away from repenting to Allah before death. If everyone is expected to be shown mercy, then why repent? If you say about an atheist, a person who distorts religion: "May Allah have mercy on him," that's it, there is no such thing as a sinner who is much less evil than them. The disbeliever, the Muslim, the atheist, the fighter against Allah, the distorter of the landmarks of religion, all are expected to be shown mercy by you, O compassionate human. Therefore, there is never any need for anyone to repent to Allah, glorified and exalted be He.

One of the things that people learn from is the bad end, that a person dies in a bad state of disbelief in Allah. These merciful disobedient people obscure the effect of this lesson, making a bad end not a matter, because in the end, everyone is expected to be shown mercy by them.

Have You Read What Shahrur Said?

Now, you who express mercy for Shahrur because his Islam is sweeter than the Islam of the backward scholars in your view, because he used his mind according to your expression, have you read what Shahrur said before you expressed mercy for him?

Shahrur's Deviant Beliefs

Did you read Shahrur in his book "Al-Qisas al-Qur'aniyya" where he says: "The human being who is the small god in the metaphorical sense." Why? Because he considers the soul to be a part of Allah, glorified and exalted be He, and not part of His creation, glorified and exalted be He. Of course, he thereby spreads the old, obsolete doctrine of the unity of existence.

Shahrur also says in his book: "Allah's knowledge is knowledge of all possibilities before the occurrence of the event, but it is not certain knowledge of any choice or possibility that Zaid or Amir will take." That is, he denies Allah, glorified and exalted be He, the comprehensiveness and perfection of His knowledge, and this is the saying of the heretics among the philosophers of old.

Shahrur says in his book "Al-Dawla wal-Sulta" on page 2294: "Allah did not write misery and happiness, wealth and poverty, longevity and shortness of life for anyone ever since the beginning of time." That is, he lies about the verses and hadiths related to Allah's, glorified and exalted be He, predestination of all this.

Did you read Shahrur's statement in his book "Al-Islam wal-Insan" on pages 124-125: "The field of religious freedom is open to everyone, and every person has the right to follow the religious sect he wants, because all religious sects are from Islam." That is, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, the worship of cows, stones, and humans, all are from Islam. Anything in anything, all are beneficial, all are from Islam.

Did you hear him on the program "La'allahum Ya'qilun" on Abu Dhabi channel, on any Abu Dhabi channel, saying: "After my master the Messenger of humanity is legislated." Ah, of course, look at the twitch of emotions, my master the Messenger of humanity, ah, he will lie about what the Messenger of Allah brought and will nullify the infallibility of the Prophet, peace be upon him, in many places and doubt the truthfulness of the Prophet in your places, then he says to you after that "my master the Messenger of humanity" to laugh at the ignorant. He says to you: "After my master the Messenger of humanity is legislated." That is, the Messenger legislated for his time, and we legislate as we wish for our times. He says: "My master the Messenger of humanity did not explain the wise revelation." My master the Messenger of humanity did not explain the wise revelation! Hundreds of hadiths about various material miracles in Al-Bukhari, Muslim, and others, {And when the Hour approaches and the moon is cleft asunder} [Al-Qamar: 1], all this has no value in the eyes of Shahrur.

Of course, brothers, I came with this speech in haste, meaning the subject of Shahrur I had looked into it from a long time ago and I do not have time now to return to it in any way I have with Shahrur, but all this came in haste. Have you read or if you return to the sources you will find multiples of this speech.

Fatwas of Shahrour Permitting Zina

Have you, O compassionate one, looked into the explicit content of Shahrour and his analysis of all the sins? Have you read his numerous fatwas on his official website, shahrour.org, his official website, which permit zina?

For example, on 23/10/2015, a person named "Al-Tum Al-Barir" asked him: "I want you to clarify for me the issue of sexual intercourse and its punishment by Allah if a girl who needs to have sex with me asks me to do so, and at the same time I myself need it, and we are both unmarried and at the same time Muslims, will we be punished for it as a crime of zina?"

The eminent scholar Muhammad Shahrour replied: "Brother Al-Tum, zina is the public practice even if between married couples. As for what you are talking about, a relationship between mature, sane, unmarried individuals with the consent of both parties, it is only a matter of personal taste and the customs and laws of society."

Of course, my brothers, you can each write on Google "Shahrour" Shahrour in quotation marks "sexual intercourse and its punishment," the second option that appears, click on it to enter the official website of Shahrour. Do a control F, meaning search, type "sexual intercourse and its punishment," it will show you the fatwa, it will light up, you will see it directly and not believe my words. And see other fatwas in which he permits zina.

By Allah, my brothers, no one among the scholars of Muslims who are actually Muslims disagrees that it is blatant disbelief to deny something necessarily known in the religion. And Shahrour denied the general necessities of Islam, he denied the general necessities of Islam.

Ideological Flexibility and Lack of Zeal for Allah's Religion

By Allah, again, if after this you show compassion for such people, this is due to the lack of love for Allah and His Messenger in your heart. This is because you do not zealously defend Allah's religion. This is because you have ideological flexibility. O compassionate one, because you have ideological flexibility, you do not zealously defend Allah's religion. This is because you do not have true faith in Allah and the Hereafter, but you have faith in the Shahrouri religion.

Allah the Almighty said: {You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day loving those who oppose Allah and His Messenger} [Al-Mujadila: 22]. This is enmity towards Allah and His Messenger to say all this fabrication, forgery, and distortion of Allah's religion, glorified and exalted be He. If you befriend a person like this or show compassion for him, by Allah, you do not have faith, you do not have faith in the Islam of Muhammad, peace be upon him. You may have faith in Shahrouri Islam or in the Islam of lying Aslam.

Our Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Strengthen the bonds of faith." Imagine your condition now, you are on the edge of a mountain about to fall, or on the edge of a valley about to fall, there is a knot at every bond, and they are tied together to save you. If the knot is weak, you will fall into the valley. If the knot is strong, you will not fall. If you do not have faith, you do not have faith even if you claim to be a Muslim.

The Story of Abdullah bin Abi bin Salul

Allah the Almighty said: Prayer for the deceased is for supplication for him, and standing at his grave is for supplication for him with mercy. This is for whom? For whom were these verses revealed? They were first revealed about people like Abdullah bin Abi bin Salul after the incident of the death of Abdullah bin Abi bin Salul. He was not an active atheist spreading his atheism like Norhan Nasar, nor did he call for it, nor did he write to demolish the pillars of Islam and permit major sins and deny the authority of the Sunnah like Shahrour, nor did he say with arrogance towards Allah, the Lord of Might: "We have no relation to religion or the Quran or the Quranic verses, we deal with the constitution of the state and we are in a civil state, and the statement that the Tunisian state's reference is a religious reference is wrong and a grave mistake."

Abdullah bin Abi was not like these people, his words were bearers of faces, not one in a hundred of these indecencies. And yet, it was revealed about him and his likes: {And do not pray over any of them who has died, and do not stand at his grave.} Imagine a Muslim in the time of the Prophet, peace be upon him, hearing these verses and then saying: "No, no, O Messenger of Allah, no, no, no, I will supplicate for Abdullah bin Abi with mercy and forgiveness."

By Allah, if you are a follower of the religion of humanism, die on your religion and wait for the paradise of humanism, but do not expect the paradise of the Lord of the people, glorified and exalted be He.

Deification of Man and the Religion of Humanism

This compassion, my brothers, is the result of the deification of man, yes, the deification of man. Allah the Almighty said: {Have you seen him who has taken his desire as his god?} [Al-Furqan: 43]. Now some people have taken their desires as their god, and therefore they say to you: "It is enough that so-and-so did not kill a human being, Shahrour did not kill a human being, so-and-so did not kill a human being."

Well, what about the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime: {And temptation is greater than killing} [Al-Baqarah: 217], and in another verse: {And temptation is more severe than killing} [Al-Baqarah: 191]. One of them causes the death of many in disbelief to immortalize them in the fire of Hell. Shahrour caused the apostasy of a number of people through his deceptive methods. And Norhan Nasar also used to head and participate in associations that called people to atheism and disbelief. They caused many to disbelieve and therefore their immortality in the fire of Hell if you are a believer in the fire of Hell, O compassionate one.

And yet, it is as if you say: "No, no, O Lord, not to this extent, killing is much worse than making people disbelieve." Who is more knowledgeable, you or Allah? And if you think you are more knowledgeable, let the religion of humanity benefit you when the two angels come to you and ask you: "Who is your Lord? What is your religion?" All of them at that time: "My Lord is humanity." O my Lord, the god of humanity, the most important thing for him is that he does not get hurt, but disbelief in Allah and the right of Allah does not concern me. If a human runs atheism, it does not concern me. If a human speaks with mockery and arrogance towards the Sharia and the verses of Allah, it does not concern me. This means this is a very simple mistake in my humanism. When the two angels come to you and ask you: "What is your religion?" Tell them: "Humanism." Enter, my brother, the paradise of humanism, and I say my brother figuratively, enter then the paradise of humanism and do not expect the paradise of Allah, glorified and exalted be He. The one who, if you were a true believer, his right would be much greater with you than the issue of killing a human or not killing a human, because we are talking about the Lord of all people, the Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them if you are certain.

May Allah, the Great Lord of the Great Throne, grant us a good end, and steadfast us on faith, and use us in His obedience, and make us of His supporters, and guide those who have gone astray among the Muslims, and grant us and you a good end. And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
