Lost Everything but Knows People and Thanks Allah with a Tongue that Unites Him

Introduction and Definition of Injuries

I am Faisal from the northern countryside of Homs. I was injured, of course, I lost my eyes, nose, and skull bone, a fracture in the right hand and a fracture in the right leg. I lost sensation in the right leg, and I lost my memory for six months.

Journey of Displacement and Treatment

Of course, I stayed fifteen days in the northern countryside of Homs because it was besieged by the regime. After fifteen days, I went out three times to the north to Idlib. We were exposed to the army, of course, ten of my friends were killed, and in the family, three others, then ten others. Finally, we were taken out in a fuel tank, I went out and came to Idlib, then entered here to Turkey.

Of course, I underwent 13 surgeries, praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I came to physical therapy, and I moved around in a wheelchair.

Cause of the Injury

And the cause of the injury, Faisal? A shell, of course. It hit eight of us in the family: my brother's children, my sisters, and my father. Praise be to Allah, all of them are fine. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

Faith and Contentment

My eyes, my nose, my skull bone, and the fracture in my right hand. Do you know what is beautiful about this? The beautiful thing is your companionship. By Allah the Great, this is what gives hope that the world is good, gives hope that no matter what a person loses, they must remain hopeful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
