Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

Dear brothers, in the eighth episode, we mentioned the story of the three men who returned to their homes and found them on fire. We said that many of those working for Islam act as the third man did.

Analysis of the Third Man's Story

What did the third man do? In the past few days, his children had been wasting their time playing, and his neighbors hated him because he did not allow them to hold parties with dancing, singing, and drinking in his house. Now, the gang that pours fuel on the fire is demanding that he lend them his wife for one night in exchange for stopping the arson.

So, before entering the house, he called to his children, "Oh my children, allow me to help you, and I promise to let you play as you wish." Then he called to his neighbors, "Oh my neighbors, come and help me extinguish the fire, and I will give you a copy of the house key to do whatever you want inside." Then he addressed the gang that was setting the fire: "Oh you gang that sets the fire, stop, and I will consider lending you my wife for one night."

What is this third man doing? He is making tactical concessions in exchange for illusory gains. He is selling his family on credit, delivering the goods to a deceitful buyer without receiving the payment. He accepts bargaining on what should not be bargained, and he sells the goal in advance in order to reach it.

Illusory Gains

His stick will not stop the fire from spreading, {and they will continue to fight you until they turn you away from your religion if they can}. The neighbors will not reconcile with him nor help him unless he indulges in their desires, otherwise, their saying: {cast them out of your town, for they are indeed evil men}. His children will not see him as sincere if he pleases them at the expense of Allah's wrath. Whoever seeks the pleasure of people at the expense of Allah's wrath will incur Allah's wrath and the wrath of the people.

Thus, the gains of our friend are all illusory, but he paid a high price for this nothingness when he accepted the bargaining over his wife, the sanctity of his home, and the morals of his children.

Symbolism of the Story

Is there still a need to dissect the symbolism of the story? The wife symbolizes the Sharia, the children symbolize the people, and the bad neighbors are the secularists, the hypocrites, and the enemies of the Sharia from our own people who turn others away from the path of Allah and make it crooked.

Our friend initially claimed that he wanted to save his wife, his home, and his children. He saw the goal as impossible according to his materialistic measures, so he relinquished the goal for the sake of the goal. He sold his wife and children to allegedly obtain what would save his wife and children, and to obtain peace. He paid the price for peace, but when he climbed the ladder, he found nothing but emptiness, because he sold what he climbed for.

What Do the Islamists Gain?

What would our friend gain if he were actually allowed to enter the house and extinguish the fire, if the price was to hand over his wife to the enemies and his children to play, and the sanctity of the home to those who violate it?

Similarly, what do the Islamists gain if they reach power after the price was abandoning the Sharia, including secularists in the rule, and yielding to the corrupt desires of a segment of the people? What do they gain from reaching power at that point? Except as it is said: "The operation was successful, but the patient died." The operation was successful, but the patient died.

Definition of the Islamic Project

When we say Islamists or the owners of the Islamic project, what distinguishes them? What is their merchandise? What is their goal? Allah the Almighty says: {Those whom if We establish them in the land, they perform prayer, give zakah, enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong}. Every right and every wrong, and this is nothing but the establishment of the religion, the establishment of the Sharia.

Allah the Almighty says: {Allah has promised those of you who believe and do good that He will surely make them successors in the land, as He did for those before them, and will surely establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them}. So this is what is required: succession and empowerment of the religion. What is the benefit of bargaining on this goal for which we want the rule, and selling it in order to reach the rule? Is it acceptable to sell the goal for the means?

Example of the Orphanage

Do you want another example? Imagine that you learned about an orphanage run by wicked administrators who do not clothe these orphans but leave them naked. You pitied them and went with a bag of clothes to clothe them, singing songs of glory in defending the oppressed and aiding the orphans.

At the door of the orphanage, it was said to you: "It is forbidden to bring in bags." You bargained and argued, but the wicked administrators insisted. You said, "No problem, I will enter and clothe them with my own clothes." You agreed and left the bag at the door. You entered, thinking that the orphans were waiting, but then another door said to you: "It is forbidden to enter for those who wear a coat." So you took off the coat and relinquished it, and you were allowed to enter the door. Then another door, and another, until you reached the point where there was nothing left to cover your severe nakedness, if it was even there.

So you said to yourself, "There is still something I can offer to the orphans, perhaps they will see me covering my nakedness and their souls will yearn for covering, and they will strive with me to revolt against this wicked and cruel administration." This has become the ceiling of ambitions for the one who was singing songs of glory at the door of the orphanage.

Warning Against the Steps of Satan

So, do you think that if he had known from the first door the extent of what he would relinquish and the extent of what he would gain, would he have accepted the deal? Or did he go against the saying of Allah the Almighty when He said: {And do not follow the footsteps of Satan}? Satan who promises them and lures them, and what Satan promises them is nothing but delusion.

Brothers, the written is read from its title. The enemies of the Sharia are naked from the obedience of Allah and servitude to Him, so they are enraged to see someone covered. And no one will enter the seat of their rule through them except those who follow their religion and become naked like them, standing as a guard at the door with them to prevent the covered from entering.

So what is the benefit of the Islamists reaching power and leaving the Sharia at the door for which they wanted the power?

Advice to Those Working for Islam

Oh, those working for Islam, define your goal. Do you want the state? Do you want the state for the sake of the state, or do you want it to establish the Sharia and achieve servitude to Allah? If you want it to establish the Sharia, then beware of relinquishing the goal for the sake of the means.

I know that this speech of mine will provoke many objections, for there are those who will say, "By entering the political process, we did not claim that we want to establish the Sharia, but we want to improve the situation as much as we can." And another will say, "Why did you consider the gains illusory and not real?" And another will say, "Why do you say that we have relinquished the Sharia? We have not relinquished it."

The answer to all of this will come in detail in the upcoming episodes, God willing. However, until then, I hope that those working for Islam who have entered parliamentary political work and those who support this approach will answer the following six questions within themselves:

Questions for Those Involved in Political Work

  1. First Question: What is your specific goal in entering this process?
  2. Second Question: What concessions did you make initially, or in the words of some: what compromises did you accept?
  3. Third Question: What are the gains or interests for which you accepted these compromises?
  4. Fourth Question: Are the gains you initially hoped for still present, or have they started to diminish and your ambitions narrowed?
  5. Fifth Question: If the answer to the previous question is that the expected gains have decreased, have you adjusted your concessions accordingly to match the new level of gains?
  6. Sixth Question: Do you consider yourselves as politicians in the current political work, in parliamentary political work, as possible or as weak?

These are questions I hope every worker for Islam who has engaged in parliamentary and electoral work, and those who support their involvement, will answer so that we can cooperate in the upcoming episodes to understand the direction of the current Islamic work, and whether it is still holding onto the compass or has lost it?

Episode Summary

Episode Summary: Reaching power should be a means taken in a legitimate manner, the goal of which is to apply the Sharia and establish the religion. It is dangerous to compromise the goal for the sake of the means, it is dangerous to compromise the goal for the sake of the means.

Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
