Is the Palestinian Cause Islamic or Humanitarian?
Peace be upon you.
There are non-Muslims who support the Palestinians, in addition to Jews in America who come out in protests demanding a halt to the aggression against Gaza. In contrast, there are traitorous Muslims who are complicit with the criminal entity. All of this means that the issue of Palestine is a land issue, a humanitarian issue, not an Islamic issue. Converting to Islam means excluding non-Muslims who support the Palestinians, who are closer to us than some traitorous Muslims. In addition, whoever was with us in the issue of Palestine, we loved him, supported him, and prayed for him to enter Paradise, even if he was an idolater, an atheist, a corrupter of the creed, or a fighter against Muslims in a country other than Palestine.
The aforementioned logic is flawed in some of its premises and in all of its results.
Response to the Argument "Humanitarian Nature of the Issue"
Fallacy of Comparing the Traitorous Muslim and the Non-Muslim Supporter
Firstly: It is true that there are idolaters who support our people in Palestine through protests, and this is appreciated. On the other hand, it is not valid to describe someone who allies with the disbelievers fighting against Muslims as a Muslim based on an empty affiliation, and then consider the description of Islam as unimportant for that reason. "And whoever takes them as allies among you, then he is one of them," this is not counted against us nor is it placed in our camp when comparing.
The Islamic Motive is the Foundation
Secondly: The issue of Palestine is an Islamic issue in the sense that what drives us as Muslims in it is our Islam, our Islam that dominates every aspect of our lives, it is the primary motivator and the first impetus for all our actions. Our Islam is what guides us that "The believers are but brothers" and that "This ummah of yours is one ummah and I am your Lord, so worship Me." Therefore, my brother behind the barriers and barbed wire is just like my brother before the barriers, exactly the same without any distinction, and the borders are mere dust and have no value whatsoever in our being.
Even the motives described as humanitarian, such as mercy for our brothers and striving for dignity, all of these are nurtured, fed, and protected from loss by our Islam that dominates our feelings, even if we have among us disobedient and negligent ones, as long as we believe in the reference of Islam and that it is an absolute truth and anything else is false.
It is not required of me as a Muslim to intend with my support for my brothers a specific formulation: "I do this out of Islamic motive, not out of humanitarian mercy." The Muslim is rewarded for his spontaneous and automatic actions as long as he believes in the reference of Islam in everything, and is not afflicted with the "humanism" that makes him see Islam and humanity as opposites, and this is a split in personality and thought.
Supporting the Oppressed in Islam
Well, if the one who is being oppressed is a non-Muslim, will we not move in this case and not help him because our motives are Islamic? Of course not, but Islam itself is the one that commanded us to support the oppressed, whether he is a Muslim or not, but the Muslim has a greater right.
For all of this, esteemed ones, the issue of Palestine as an inseparable part of the land of the Muslims and its people from the nation of Islam is an Islamic issue, not in need of another module in my thinking, nor that I make it a criterion for loyalty and disavowal that competes with religious criteria.
Dealing with Non-Muslim Supporters of the Issue
Thirdly: Awareness of the Islamic nature of the issue does not mean excluding non-Muslim supporters of it, but rather, we thank them for standing with us in supporting it, and it makes us differentiate between them and those who fight us in our religion as our Lord commanded us. Allah the Almighty said: "Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - that you should treat them with kindness and deal justly with them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly. Allah only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in expelling you that you take them as allies. And whoever takes them as allies, then it is they who are the wrongdoers."
Fourthly: Based on what has been mentioned, my criterion in evaluating people is not their positions on the issue of Palestine alone, but my criterion is purely Islamic. Whoever strives to lift the oppression from our people in Palestine or elsewhere and is not a Muslim, we deal with him with kindness and justice as our Lord commanded us. And the best of kindness is that we invite him to Islam so that he may be saved from the Fire.
Non-Muslims, idolaters, have made great sacrifices these days, among them those who were beaten while standing against injustice, among them those who were imprisoned, among them those who lost their jobs. These people are among those I am most concerned about not being with me in a partial issue only, and that I benefit from them for my issue only, but that he be my brother in Islam, and that he be with me in the Paradise of the Most Merciful. These sympathizers from non-Muslims do not need to be dealt with by a different standard other than Islam. Who is it that has placed in their hearts an innate nature that rejects injustice and has mercy on the oppressed? It is Allah, the Most High, who has revealed a complete law that commands me to deal with all kinds of people with justice and fairness.
Exposing the Hypocrites
On the other hand, there are channels, YouTubers, and personalities who attack Islamic rulings or spread atheism among the sons of Muslims, and spread feminism, gender, and the garbage of the United Nations, then they try to beautify their ugly image by supporting Palestine. This teaches us that he is a wicked person who wants to take Palestine as a wipe for his filth, for by destroying the creeds of Muslims, our enemies can take our necks in Palestine and elsewhere, then he complains about Palestine.
And whoever fought the Muslims in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, raped their women, and killed their children, then came to wipe with Palestine, we said to him: The blood of the Muslims is equal, and they are a hand against others, so may Allah not reward you well and may He not bless you.
Conclusion
In conclusion, esteemed ones, if we want the glory of this world and salvation in the Hereafter, our logic, positions, criteria, and rulings must all emanate from the revelation of Allah the Almighty, and we are never in need of loyalties and criteria outside our religion that make us run after a mirage in this world, then we are deprived of the reward of our deeds in the Hereafter.
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
