Why Islam Cannot Be Separated from the State?

Introduction

We return to remind you, Ahmed, 99 seconds, with your arguments, reasons, and evidence. Please proceed, Ahmed.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. I welcome the esteemed audience. Peace be upon you. What I will say is simple, but I hope it will be eloquent and penetrate the minds and hearts.

Why Islam Cannot Be Separated from the State?

Firstly, separating religion from the state, which religion are we talking about? If we are talking about Islam, then Islam is a system of life. How can it be separated from life?

Similarly, Islam is a creed, a spiritual and political creed. From Islam, a system of life emerges that regulates all relationships. A person has three types of relationships: their relationship with their Lord on the level of creed and worship, their relationship with themselves in terms of sustenance, ethics, and clothing, and the relationship of humans with each other on the level of contracts and transactions.

Therefore, these are the relationships, and we see that even the Quran, as it says, "And establish prayer," it also says, "And fulfill the contracts." As it says, "And give zakat," it also says, "And fulfill their covenant to the end of their term," which is foreign policy. The Prophet, peace be upon him, as he said, "Pray as you have seen me pray," spoke about the economy and public ownership, oil and gas, saying, "People are partners in three things: fire, water, and pasture."

Who among you can separate their soul from their body? In Islam, the state is neither secular, separating religion from life, nor religious, ruling by divine right, but a human state that applies the Sharia rulings.
