Peace be upon you and the mercy of God and His blessings.
People often say, "Gaza is living in a real hell," and before that, Western and Israeli officials said, "We will open the gates of hell on Gaza." What Gaza is experiencing is horrors and trials that would melt mountains, and suffering that never stops. We do not feel the magnitude of it while we continue with our lives, no matter how concerned and distressed we are for our brothers.
One of us is at a loss for words when feeling the pain, were it not for our brothers in Gaza themselves asking us to direct the spotlight towards them; and this is why we continue to remind.
And what we remind our brothers of is that no matter what befalls our brothers, it is nothing like hell, and nothing like the Fire; for the punishment of people is not like the punishment of God. Allah, the Most High, says in describing the punishment of these disbelieving criminals in Hell and the chains with which they will be bound, that there is no punishment in this world like it, nor any chains.
Our brothers in Gaza, even if one of them dies a thousand deaths before he dies - we ask Allah to accept them as martyrs - this, even if it has lasted for two years, is in contrast to what Allah describes as the fate of their enemies, that they have the Fire of Hell: "There will be no death brought to a close for them so they would die, nor will they be granted respite from its punishment. Thus do We recompense every ungrateful one."
And this is not for one year or two years or a hundred or two hundred, but forever without end, they will plead to Malik, the keeper of the Fire: "O Malik, let your Lord decide our case," and the reply comes: "Indeed, you will abide [in it]."
Allah, the Most High, says: "And among the people is he who says, 'I believe in Allah,' but when he is harmed for [the sake of] Allah, he considers the trial of the people as the punishment of Allah." No, by Allah, no matter how the disbelievers torment someone, displace them, and starve them, this is not like the punishment of Allah; for the chains will be around their necks, and their food will be: "Indeed, the tree of zaqqum, food of the sinner, is like boiling oil, it boils in the bellies, like the boiling of scalding water. Take him and drag him into the midst of the Hellfire. Then pour over his head from the punishment of scalding water. Taste! For you are the honorable, the generous."
You are the president, you are the minister, you are the one who wears "the suit and tie," you are the one who orders the movement of your planes and missiles, sitting in air-conditioned rooms watching with enjoyment and satisfaction as buildings are bombed and bodies are burned; this is your fate.
Of course, my point in this discussion is not a legal one to use literary expressions such as "Gaza is living in hell," and of course, it is needless to say that all this talk does not mean that we can remain silent about what is happening in Gaza in terms of horrors, considering that their enemies will enter Hell.
But we say this so that the wrong impression is not given, and so that the disbelieving criminals are not given more than their size, no matter how they transgressed and rebelled, and as patience for our brothers; may Allah relieve them and help us to support them and support everyone who has defended them, and heal the hearts from their enemy and guide him and support him and humiliate those who incite against them.
And we say this to remind [you] of the Hereafter and its scales of justice: "And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion." And once again: "So no one on that Day will punish with His punishment [anyone but Him], and no one will bind with His binding [anyone but Him]."
And in contrast to what these disbelieving criminals will face: "O reassured soul, return to your Lord, pleased and pleasing [to Him]. Then enter among My [righteous] servants. And enter My Paradise."
May Allah make you, O people of Gaza, among those who hear this great call on the Day of Resurrection.
Peace be upon you and the mercy of God.
