Medical Student Taha Al-Omari's Advice to Youth Before His Death
Greetings from the Publisher to the Esteemed Audience
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah, dear esteemed audience.
Introduction to Taher Al-Amri by the Publisher
A young man named Taher Al-Amri, a 21-year-old medical student here in Jordan, has been in touch with me for some time. He told me about an event that happened to him: he was diagnosed with cancer, and when the cancer was discovered in him, it was in the fourth stage, meaning it was very advanced. The news hit him hard, then he sought help from Allah and was patient.
A book titled "Having Good Thoughts About Allah" fell into his hands. He told me, "I read it in one day in one sitting, and it moved me greatly, thanks be to Allah the Almighty." To the extent that he says, "I used to pray to Allah the Almighty not to heal me, so that my illness would be the reason for my entry into Paradise."
When I saw Taher's patience and steadfastness, I asked him to record a message to his young brothers, telling them about his experience and encouraging them to be patient with the decree of Allah, especially since we see people complaining about the decree of Allah for the slightest reasons. Taher responded to us and recorded the recording that you will hear now.
I tried to contact him recently, but he did not respond, so I called his father, who informed me that he had passed away about two weeks ago, may Allah have mercy on him and reward him well.
Publishing Taher Al-Amri's Message
And here we are publishing the recordings that Taher sent to me, the advice he directed to his young brothers for two reasons:
- So that the youth may learn patience, accountability, and contentment with the decree of Allah the Almighty from it.
- And also so that it may be an ongoing charity for Taher, if Allah wills.
We hope that this advice will spread among Muslim youth and that good deeds will continue to be added to Taher's scale, to the scale of Taher, may the mercy of Allah be upon him and may Allah reward him well.
Taher recorded it for us from the intensive care unit while he was exhausted and tired, so perhaps you will hear the sound of the devices, but the important thing is the sincerity and depth of this sermon, so listen to it from your brother Taher.
Of course, I asked his father for permission to publish these recordings, and he granted it. We ask Allah the Almighty to reunite Taher with his family, his parents, and his brothers in the Gardens of Eden. Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
Taher Al-Amri's Message to the Youth
In the name of Allah, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah.
Introduction to Taher Al-Amri and His Illness
I am Taher Al-Amri, a human medicine student at the University of Science and Technology, born in the year 2001. Praise be to Allah in all circumstances. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in the year 2018. On June 21, 2018, after a lower endoscopy, it was discovered that I had cancer, and praise be to Allah, I accounted the reward with our Lord and knew who guided us. I continued my treatment at the Hussein Cancer Center, and praise be to Allah in all circumstances.
His Experience with the Disease and Having Good Thoughts About Allah
I would like to address a message to our brothers, especially those who were raised in a certain way. I would like to benefit from it after my second diagnosis with cancer, which was a shock to me. They told me it was stage four. And we often hear that stage four cancers are a death sentence, and all that talk. Praise be to Allah in all circumstances, I accounted the reward and the reward with our Lord, and I tried to find ways to ease my burden, so I read the Quran, sermons, and the noble Prophet's Sunnah.
A book titled "The Art of Having Good Thoughts About Allah" caught my eye. I read the book in one sitting, reaching a stage where even if I am not healed from this cancer, this thing will not harm me at all, on the contrary, it will be the greatest thing that happens to me, except that it will be the greatest reason for entering Paradise, or guiding many young people because of the story I went through, or at least some people will take heed.
Criticism of Those Who Complain About the Decree of Allah
I mean those people who complain about the decree of our Lord, and those who blame Him for the slightest reasons. I mean all exams, car problems, family problems, and any matter, to the extent of a pen cap or getting wet in the rain and causing, for example, a rise in prices and putting the right, and God forbid, blaming it on our Lord and the decree of our Lord, and you find that his life has exceeded sixty.
And I mean glory be to Allah, I personally wish that people, in the stage of affliction, would look at those who are afflicted more than them and not less, because it makes one more patient with the affliction that he is in. Where, I mean, if Allah wills, if anything happens to you, and it is expected that anything will happen to you physically, mentally, and religiously, the most important thing is to be armed with the correct creed in case of death.
Advice from the Intensive Care Unit
I cannot offer more than words because I am in the ICU, and praise be to Allah in all circumstances. You see the wonders in the ICU. You see those whose affliction is greater than yours, and you see those on the brink of death whom Allah revives, and you see people in critical condition who pass away, and you see funerals in front of you. And praise be to Allah, I do not believe that there will be a greater impact on the souls than this condition.
My last visit to my brothers is to be patient with prayer because it is the greatest blessing upon us, the greatest blessing that our Lord has bestowed upon us and bestowed upon us with greatness. And visit cancer patients and all ages because they need psychological support, especially children and the elderly, because they are often distressed, and at their ages, you will find them hiding their pain internally. So try to ease their burden because they often need kind words, even if they are fabricated. I wish you a life free of diseases.
